Full Job Description
The Role

We are looking for a Director to lead financial due diligence engagements from the front: owning the analytical work, leading client conversations, developing junior talent, and contributing to the continued growth of the TAS practice. This is not a title with layers of bureaucracy above it. Directors at Intrinsic have meaningful authority over engagements, direct access to PE sponsors and deal teams, and a real seat at the table as we build.

If you have logged significant reps in buy-side and sell-side diligence, can lead a quality of earnings analysis as instinctively as breathing, and are energized by the idea of doing that work inside a firm where your contributions are visible and your ownership stake grows alongside the firm's success, this is worth your attention.
What You'll Do

Engagement Leadership

You are the senior person accountable for the work. You scope the engagement, structure the analysis, set the pace, and ensure every deliverable meets the standard our clients have come to expect. You are not handing off work to review it later; you are in it alongside your team.
  • Lead buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence engagements for private equity sponsors, lenders, and corporate acquirers across a broad range of industries and transaction types
  • Direct quality of earnings analyses, net working capital assessments, debt and debt-like item identification, and cash flow reviews, synthesizing findings into clear, commercially relevant conclusions
  • Manage all aspects of engagement execution: scoping, workplan design, request list management, timeline oversight, and milestone delivery
  • Identify and escalate transaction risks and deal considerations with the clarity and conviction that clients depend on to make high-stakes investment decisions
  • Produce and review financial due diligence reports that translate complex data into actionable insights, ready for PE partners and deal teams

Client Relationship Management

At Intrinsic, Directors hold the relationship. You are the person clients call when something is complicated, when timelines compress, or when findings require interpretation beyond the databook.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact on active engagements, managing communications with PE deal teams, lenders, management, and third-party advisors
  • Lead management interviews and diligence calls with target company finance teams and executives, navigating sensitive dynamics with professionalism and precision
  • Present findings and key deal considerations to sophisticated stakeholders in a manner that is direct, well-supported, and confident
  • Develop and strengthen client relationships over time, positioning Intrinsic as a trusted diligence partner across the transaction lifecycle

Team Development & Practice Building

Directors at Intrinsic develop people. You will manage deal teams, provide substantive coaching and feedback, and invest in the growth of Senior Associates and VPs on your engagements. Beyond individual deals, you will have a voice in how the TAS practice operates, scales, and builds its reputation.
  • Direct and review the work of Vice Presidents, Senior Associates, and Associates, ensuring analytical precision, clear writing, and professional delivery
  • Provide real-time feedback and structured coaching that raises the capability of your team with each engagement
  • Contribute to recruiting, training, and professional development initiatives within the TAS practice
  • Participate in business development activities, including identifying opportunities with existing clients, supporting proposals, and contributing to firm-wide growth initiatives
  • Help build TAS intellectual capital: refine templates, develop sector-specific approaches, and contribute to the methodologies that define how Intrinsic competes
What Makes You a Fit

You bring seasoned transaction expertise:
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in financial due diligence at a Big 4 TAS or Deals practice, a national advisory firm, or a comparable transaction advisory environment
  • Demonstrated track record leading quality of earnings analyses, net working capital assessments, and full-scope financial due diligence engagements with limited supervision
  • Deep command of US GAAP as applied in transaction contexts: EBITDA normalization, working capital mechanics, debt and debt-like structuring, and purchase agreement negotiation considerations
  • Broad industry exposure across middle-market transactions: manufacturing, distribution, business services, technology, consumer, and related sectors
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred (active or eligible)
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and comfort working with large, complex datasets under deal-driven timelines

You lead with a Director's mindset:
  • You set the quality bar; your team looks to you for the standard, not just the timeline
  • You are decisive under pressure: deal timelines are non-negotiable, and ambiguity sharpens your judgment rather than slowing it down
  • You translate complex financial analysis into plain-English business implications that clients can act on
  • You manage upward and across: you keep Directors and Managing Directors appropriately informed while running engagements with minimal hand-holding
  • You develop people deliberately: feedback is specific, timely, and directed at raising capability, not just completing the deliverable
  • You are entrepreneurial: you do not wait for processes to be handed to you; you help build them
Compensation & Benefits

This position has an expected base salary range of $190,000 to $220,000 annually. Skills, experience, education, and qualifications determine final compensation. Employees are also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus targeted at 30% of base salary, bringing target total cash compensation to approximately $247,000 to $286,000.

Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; a 401(k) plan with employer contribution; paid time off, including vacation, sick leave, and company holidays; paid parental leave; hybrid and remote work flexibility; professional development support and continuing education reimbursement; and participation in the firm's employee ownership model. All full-time employees are eligible for these benefits.

This position is eligible for remote work. Compensation reflects the full posted range and is not adjusted by geography.
