Full Job Description
The Opportunity:

Tetra Tech is adding a Director, Track Assessment Services to provide senior technical and operational leadership for our growing Track Assessment Services team based in Edmonton, AB.

This is a key leadership role responsible for the performance, delivery, and strategic growth of a multidisciplinary team supporting field engineering, data collection systems, test equipment, software workflows, project execution, client relationships, and business development.

The successful candidate will help guide a team through a planned leadership transition, ensuring continuity of service, strong client relationships, and long-term growth for the business unit.

Your Impact:

In this role, you will help strengthen a growing business unit, support knowledge transfer, and ensure high-quality delivery across complex technical projects. You'll play a critical part in maintaining operational excellence while helping shape the future of the group through leadership, mentorship, client engagement, and strategic growth.

Your Role:
  • Provide senior technical leadership for Track Assessment Services, including field engineering, data collection systems, test equipment, reporting, and deliverable quality.
  • Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination to ensure successful delivery.
  • Oversee field, technical, and software-related staff, providing coaching, mentorship, and guidance.
  • Serve as a senior client contact, managing expectations and supporting technical issue resolution.
  • Support proposal development, business development, and service-line growth initiatives.
  • Improve internal processes, technical standards, and operational practices.
  • Support the transition of institutional knowledge and maintain continuity across projects and client relationships.
  • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.
  • Additional duties as required.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Several years of progressive experience in engineering leadership, technical project delivery, or operations management.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing client-facing technical projects.
  • Strong background in hardware systems, field instrumentation, data acquisition, software workflows, or related technical environments.
  • Strong communication, organizational, budgeting, and leadership skills.
  • Experience supporting business development and growth in a technical service line is preferred.
  • Professional Engineer designation, or eligibility for registration, is preferred.
