SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Functional supervision of the Title IX investigator pool
General Statement of Duties: The Title IX Coordinator is a director-level position and serves as the institution's primary authority on Title IX compliance and gender-based equity. This leadership role oversees the university's response to sex discrimination, sexual misconduct, and interpersonal violence, ensuring institutional adherence to federal and state laws through comprehensive policy development, prevention programming, and impartial grievance processes. This position provides leadership and administration of the University's Title IX Sexual Harassment and Equal Opportunity (EO) Plans and ensures institutional compliance with applicable regulations, including the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act, VAWA, the SaVE Act and MA Legislature S. 2979, An Act relative to sexual violence on higher ed. campuses. The Director ensures that University policies, procedures, and practices align with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Works in partnership with the Office of Inclusive Excellence and Belonging to advance Equal Opportunity initiatives, including consultation, coordination of investigations, and institutional responses to discrimination and harassment matters.
Responsibilities:(E) = Essential- (E) Oversee intake, response, and resolution of reports involving Title IX-and gender-based concerns.
- (E) Ensure prompt, equitable, and impartial handling of complaints of sex discrimination and harassment.
- (E) Manage or oversee formal and informal resolution processes, including investigations and adjudication procedures.
- (E) Monitor timelines and procedural requirements to ensure compliance with applicable laws and guidance.
- (E) Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with federal and state regulations and institutional policies to support institutional reporting and the completion of required annual reports.
- (E) Collaborates with appropriate offices to oversee all new hires, employees, and students receive annual Title IX training that aligns with federal and state compliance standards.
- (E) Chairs the Sexual Misconduct Response Team (SMRT). This collaborative multi-disciplinary team is focused on a comprehensive approach to evaluating and improving the campus response, policies and protocols of sexual and gender-based misconduct and discrimination.
- (E) Remains current regarding state and federal law, regulations and trends in the field of education related to harassment and other discriminatory practices that violate Title IX or University EO Plan.
- (E) Partner with the Department of Athletics to support campus sexual violence prevention and response initiatives and ensure institutional compliance with NCAA annual sexual violence attestation requirements and student-athlete disclosure obligations.
- (E) Co-Chair the SAVE Task Force in the development and coordination of required campus-wide training and prevention initiatives required by VAWA and related to at-risk populations.
- (E) Serve on the institutional Clery Compliance Team to ensure compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act including coordination of prevention initiatives, policy review and development, and preparation of the Annual Security Report (ASR).
- (E) Works in partnership with the Office of Inclusive Excellence and Belonging to advance Equal Opportunity initiatives, including consultation, coordination of investigations, and institutional responses to discrimination and harassment matters.
- (E) Serve on the State Title IX Coordinator Team to assist in developing policies and procedures related to Title IX and EO and ensuring policies align with current federal and state regulations, guidance and best practices.
- (E) Serves as Campus Security Authority (CSA).
- (E) Demonstrates civility and professional, customer-service oriented behavior, worthy of emulation by other staff and students.
- (E) Responsible for contributing to the WSU Strategic Plan.
- (E) Responsible for contributing to Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action objectives.

Requirements:Required Qualifications:- Minimum of three years of experience in sexual misconduct and discrimination/bias investigations or student conduct experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of applicable laws including, but not limited to, Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, Clery Act, VAWA, FERPA, and other relevant federal and state laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of student development theory, legal issues, and program development.
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusivity; Strong commitment to student and customer service.
- Must have a demonstrated commitment to working with a diverse and inclusive student body, faculty, staff, and other constituents.
- Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with faculty, administration, staff, parents and alumni.
- Exercises high-level independence and initiative in problem-solving; proactively identifies opportunities for organizational improvement and manages calculated risks to achieve institutional compliance goals.
Preferred Qualifications:- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a higher education environment.
- Knowledge of higher education principles, practices, and procedures.
- Supervision experience preferred.
- Familiarity with Vector Solutions.
- Knowledge of Maxient Software.
Additional Information:This is a full-time, benefited, exempt, non-unit professional position. The firm annual salary for this position is $110,000.
