What you'll do...
Director, Technical Program Management - AI & Data | Code Puppy
The Director of Technical Program Management within the AI & Data organization drives enterprise-wide platform strategy, execution, and governance. This leader oversees complex, cross-functional programs that accelerate AI adoption and engineering productivity. The role partners closely with executive leadership to deliver scalable solutions, enable organizational alignment, and maximize business value across the platform.

What You'll Do
Enterprise Scale & Strategic Importance
  • Support 55K+ associates across 11 domains, requiring centralized leadership to drive platform consistency and scalability
  • Play a critical role in Walmart's enterprise AI and engineering productivity strategy-not limited to a single product or tool

Complex, Cross-Domain Execution
  • Orchestrate highly interdependent initiatives across business, product, and engineering teams
  • Leverage senior-level influence to unblock issues, prioritize effectively, and drive alignment across VP-level stakeholders

Platform Strategy & Governance at Scale
  • Own the long-term platform roadmap, maturity, and adoption to reduce developer friction enterprise-wide
  • Ensure enterprise-grade governance, security, and AI compliance within a rapidly growing ecosystem

Executive Partnership & Value Realization
  • Act as a direct partner to VP/SVP leadership, translating strategy into measurable delivery outcomes
  • Drive value tracking, operational efficiency, and ROI visibility across platform investments

Community Leadership & Change Management
  • Lead an 18K+ community of practice and adoption across 60K+ users
  • Champion enterprise change management, communication, and enablement strategies

TPM Leadership & Operating Model Evolution
  • Establish TPM standards, operating rigor, and delivery excellence across the platform
  • Mentor and scale TPM capabilities to support long-term platform growth


What You'll Bring
  • 12-15+ years of total experience in engineering, technical program management, or related fields
  • 5-7+ years of experience leading large-scale, cross-functional programs and/or managing TPM teams
  • Proven track record of leading complex, enterprise-scale, cross-functional technical programs with measurable outcomes
  • Strong understanding of engineering concepts, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, APIs, and technical trade-offs
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience creating executive-ready materials
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across diverse teams


Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in project or program management (e.g., PMP, PgMP)
  • Experience with AI/ML systems and platform delivery (e.g., AI pipelines, model serving, real-time systems)
  • Experience mentoring TPMs or technical leaders in execution discipline and program governance
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and fast-evolving technical environments

The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $260,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
