Full Job Description
Provides technical accounting and advisory services to BNY Mellon businesses and controllers related to highly complex accounting matters such as broker dealer and capital market transactions, acquisitions & dispositions, consolidations, impairments, hedge accounting, financial instruments valuation and revenue /expense recognition.Conducts research and evaluation of complex technical accounting matters, valuation, and unique transactions.Develops recommendations on how BNY Mellon should treat transactions and other complex accounting matters in accordance with applicable standards. Presents recommendations to business leadership.Reviews complex accounting judgments included in BNY Mellon's quarterly and annual reports. Interacts with external auditors and answers questions regarding accounting methodology.Develops documentation and provides guidance on complex accounting matters regarding BNY Mellon's treatment of transactions and related assumptions and judgments.Monitors activities of accounting standard setting bodies (i.e., SEC, FASB, and IASB). Base salary offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base salary is only part of the total rewards package, which may include eligibility for an annual discretionary incentive award.
