Director of TechOps - Phoenix - USA

Job Summary:

Our Electronic Security Services Environments team is working diligently to provide well-conceived and properly executed technology solutions for collaborative environments. The Director of Technical Operations manages the design and integration strategy to support diverse customers while also working with sales leadership to develop sales strategies and positive P&L results.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide best in class customer service to all Diversified customers and responsible for customer satisfaction scores with projects and services provided
• Responsible for meeting financial targets by managing operating expenses and maximizing revenue
• Assists with quoting and approves all labor estimates before they are sent out
• Assigns and/or delegates quoting support to Tech Ops staff as needed
• Provides leadership, trains, supports, motivates, directs and retains high-caliber Tech Ops staff
• Responsible for all personnel management including hiring, terminations, and compensation reviews for all Tech Ops personnel
• Develop Tech Ops strategies, assist with fiscal Operating plan and departmental budgets
• Establish departmental goals & objectives
• Assists with departmental staffing requirements as part of Operational planning/budgeting
• Coordinates, assigns, prioritizes the activities of all Tech Ops personnel
• Participate in the development, acquisition, and validation of new processes for manufacturing, assembly, sourcing, procurement logistics to meet business goals
• Coordinates activities for Service to ensure all systems requiring support are successfully included
• Maintains and measures employees' performance against performance and productivity standards
• Approves timesheets and expense reports after reviewing for accuracy
• Ensures training objectives are met for all direct reports
• Maintain a master schedule of all project timelines and assigned resources
• Participate in internal project meetings to ensure proper hand off from Sales to PM and project team
• The Director of Technical Operations will travel as required
• Ensure compliance in Quality Assurance program
• Understand the process for validation to include software
• Establish the overall reporting structure and the responsibilities and authority assigned to each position
• Provide monthly billing and Revenue forecasts to accounting
• Provide and support appropriate operating structure for team success including meeting cadence and employee 1:1's
• Provide support and guidance to our sales team to ensure customer service and financial success
• Provide growth plans for both the Operation and the Operations staff to help ensure long term success for our team
• Provide leadership to other divisions including, M&E, ESS and Structured Cabling.
• Promote a safe and positive working environment that promotes collaboration between multiple departments and division

Create a strong partnership between sales and operations by working closely with the business leaders of each AVE office and each Specialty.
Hold regular meetings with the Tech Ops Management Team to improve process by setting standards that create efficiency and profitability.
Own the Tech Ops portions of the Profit & Loss reports for the Mid Atlantic AVE.
Review Mid Atlantic budget reports to evaluate how each team is performing and contributing to the greater group.
Maximize resource utilization across all specialties in the Mid Atlantic including, AVE, M&E, SCS, ESS, by making sure we load balance projects, mix teams to cover large projects and assign the most skilled teams for each situation.
Create and administer training programs for new hires and staff resources.
Collaborate with other AVE Territories and Divisions to provide appropriate resources for cross territory projects, hybrid system projects and multi-discipline projects.
Work closely with Sales Leadership to create yearly budgets and mid-year 2+2 updates.
Partner with Business Ops, the People Team and Finance on day to day items, monthly updates and localized initiatives.
Assist with sales and/or project needs as available.
Conduct bi-weekly meetings with all leaders of the Mid Atlantic, lead the meeting, resolve conflicts, provide direction and action when required.
Produce a collaborative work environment between AVE, ESS, SCS and M&E that focuses on profit

Required/Desired Knowledge, Experience and Skills:

• 10+ years leading operations functions including experience in high technology, electronics/AV focused manufacturing/integration environment, or IT
• Experience with both in-house and outsourced AV manufacturing/integration

• Two years leadership experience including P&L responsibility
• Strategic thinker with strong planning skills
• Strong business analysis skills combined with the ability to exercise sound judgement and initiative
• Effective time and task management skills with the ability to translate those tools to others
• Ability to work cooperatively with others in a leadership role to achieve departmental or organizational tasks/goals
