Full Job Description
Summary:

Directs non-clinical education. Leads the team responsible for Associate and Leadership talent management and development. Responsibilities include Associate and Leadership development, orientation, succession planning, and associate engagement. Plans and administers departmental budget, corporate tuition assistance budget and the scholarship budgets. Develops and directs the provision of high quality education programs and activities that promote CHRSITUS Health Associates professional development. This is accomplished through identification of learning needs in collaboration with Corporate sponsored development programs, hospital administrators, department heads, supervisors, education coordinators and/or Associates. He/she serves as the internal consultant responsible for aligning human capital strategy with mission, vision, values and goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that leaders are properly trained in all the "Must Haves" and required leadership competencies associated with CHRISTUS Health's Journey to Excellence.
  • Leads and manages succession planning and other talent management activities in coordination with the system Organizational Effectiveness department.
  • Develops education and development programs that align with CHRISTUS Health's strategic plan. Measure program success and deliver a positive ROI for the organization.
  • Provide on-going coaching to the leadership team to improve their skills in executing the "Must Haves" and leadership competencies; monitor progress and compliance".
  • Serves as an organizational leader and internal consultant to management in the identification, development, and implementation of business processes. Assists with, develops and trains leadership with workflow analysis and process changes to ensure work processes are optimized for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Coordinates annual leadership development needs assessment. Analyze needs assessment data and develops annual plan for executive approval.
  • Responsible for coordinates of tri-annual Leadership Forums to include programming, speaker recommendations and assess the value of the programming based on results obtained.
  • Coordinates the Associate Satisfaction Survey process, reporting attendance numbers & percentage of attendance on a daily and cumulative basis. Analyze data from the Associate Satisfaction surveys and develops modules to support leadership in understanding the results and developing action plans and strategies for improvement.
  • Leads on-going management of activities related to the implementation and on-going support of the CHRISTUS Health Performance Management system (Success Factors) and Learning Management system (Health Stream)
  • Coordinates and facilitates annual mentoring program
  • Plans and schedules project timelines and deadlines to coordinate with other organizational initiatives.
  • Appropriately adapts assigned assessment, treatment, and/or service methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, age-specific and other developmental needs of each member served.
  • Directs the assessment, planning organization, implementation and evaluation of the organizational staff development program. Formulates organization-wide educational policies and practices.
  • Collaborates and consults with organization/hospital administrators and managers for the planning and provision of educational activities consistent with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Provides leadership for the continuing development of the staff development program.
  • Communicates the educational plan in such a way as to encourage and foster participation, involvement and cooperation.
  • Develops, maintains and utilizes educational records and reports pertinent to organization/department activities.
  • Plans and administers departmental and related budgets including: the Departmental budget and the Associate tuition assistance budget.
  • Selects, trains, orients, supervises assigned department staff, evaluates performance and implements personnel action including termination of employment.
  • Teaches in the education program as need or as appropriate.
  • Evaluates equipment and learning aides (such as videotapes) for educational and staff resources; plans for purchases or refers to other administrators/managers as appropriate.
  • Coordinates classroom/meeting room facilities.
  • Demonstrates adherence to the CORE Values of CHRISTUS Health.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, or related field required. Master's degree in Organization Development, or related field preferred.
  • Education or training in performance improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
  • Computer and related software proficiency.
  • Excellent Power Point skills required
  • Experience with Success Factors or other performance management is a preferred
  • Experience presenting and training adult learners.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience in adult education.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant consulting and organizational change experience.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience with a performance improvement methodology such as LEAN or Six Sigma.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years' experience leading teams
  • One (1) to three (3) years of relevant of experience with training & development to support Diversity & Inclusion initiatives.
  • Experience working in matrixed organization is preferred
