Job DescriptionThe Director, Systems engineering is expected to have in-depth system-level understanding and knowledge of power electronics systems, power semiconductors and experience with the complete product hardware development cycle. The candidate will be responsible for exploring trends in power systems, power semiconductors and defining innovative power management IC's that solve system level challenges. The candidate will work closely with customers' system engineering, hardware, and software teams to help define optimum silicon power solutions.
We are looking for someone who can build close working relationships with key customers and field sales/apps to define innovative products that can solve customers' problems by understanding their needs or technical challenges customers are facing. The candidate will be responsible for conducting feasibility studies and taking the proposed product concept/ideas into a technical document and work with IC design teams on implementation.
Core responsibilities : - Explore systems level challenges and requirements of prospective customer with the aim of developing differentiated silicon solutions
- Define a robust product roadmap for target product categories
- Identify new product ideas and convert them into specifications that can solve customer problems creatively
- Work closely with design, apps, marketing, sales/FAE and even customers throughout the product development process to ensure product development and customer's engagement remains on track.
- Own and author preliminary product specifications and work with internal teams on generation of product data sheets
- Own product success through the product lifecycle from concept through ramp
Experience : - 10+ years of experience in power systems design and/or power semiconductors systems or applications
- In-depth knowledge and experience in power hardware development, experience with implementing Si and wide-bandgap power semiconductors, magnetics and thermal design
- In-depth knowledge of power conversion topologies, tradeoffs and implementation
- Experience developing product evaluation platform's including hardware and firmware
- Experience leading engineering teams and independently setting organizational strategy and direction
