Full Job Description
Autonomous Airpower | Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT)

Autonomous Airpower resides within the Air Dominance and Strike business line with responsibility for aircraft development programs such as the FQ-44 Fury.
ABOUT THE TEAM

We are building cutting-edge autonomous airpower systems that must operate in the most demanding environments. Systems & Integration (S&I) is a function within the Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT) organization, responsible for bringing independently strong subsystems together into one deployable, mission-capable system. S&I owns the cross-discipline integration of the full system - not just the air vehicle, but the ground segment, command and control, cyber, and the interfaces that tie them into a coherent operational capability. S&I is the connective tissue that lets them move faster together by reducing friction, exposing gaps early, aligning technical decisions, and driving system-level closure across the entire system of systems.

This is not a traditional systems engineering organization. We design and develop systems - requirements and artifacts are a means to an end, not the end itself. We are building something new: an integration function where engineers own outcomes, get their hands dirty in hardware and software, and drive real convergence rather than managing documents.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Build the organization and define the function. This is the most important part of the role. Establish what systems and integration means within Anduril and Autonomous Airpower - the standards, culture, and operating rhythm that define it. Recruit hands-on technical performers and build an organization defined by engineering ownership, not process administration. This is not the same SE org that exists elsewhere; you are creating something different.
  • Be a hands-on technical leader who is credible with hardware and software. Understand what is happening at the bench, in the integration lab, and in the software build - not just in the requirements database.
  • Partner with the Director of Test to drive integration and test requirements, strategy, and execution. Integration planning and test planning are tightly coupled from the start, not sequential handoffs.
  • Own integration across the full system of systems - air vehicle, ground segment, C2, cyber, datalinks, and the operational interfaces between them. Define the architecture, cross-domain trades, interface control, and configuration maturity that make the system converge.
  • Own system verification and validation strategy, including SIL/HIL sequencing, ground-to-flight test progression, entrance/exit criteria, and verification closure. Ensure integration produces evidence, not just meetings.
  • Interface directly with internal and external stakeholders, translating mission requirements into integrated, testable system behavior. Lead across peer disciplines through influence rather than authority.
REPORTING

This role reports to the Head of Systems Engineering, Integration & Test (SEIT).
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • B.S. in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, computer science, systems engineering, or a similar technical field.
  • 10+ years of systems engineering and integration experience across the lifecycle, with technical leadership roles spanning integration, architecture, or verification on Group 5 UAS, similar-class aircraft, or advanced missile systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead engineering organizations - not just inherit them. Experience standing up teams, defining culture, and establishing operating models in fast-moving environments.
  • Hands-on comfort with both hardware and software. Must be credible at the bench and in the codebase, not solely in the requirements tool.
  • Demonstrated ownership of system-level integration: interfaces, configuration, cross-domain trades, and the progression from design through ground test, flight test, and fielding.
  • Experience owning system-level verification and validation and hardware/software qualification, including test strategy, ground-to-flight progression, failure analysis, and verification closure on complex aerospace systems.
  • Breadth across multiple subsystems and their integration, including aircraft subsystems (EPS, ECS, propulsion, avionics), ground segment, C2, and cyber.
  • Proven experience leading high-performance, cross-functional engineering teams in a fast-paced environment and driving decisions under ambiguity.
  • Outstanding communication skills, including presentation of developed artifacts to customers and senior stakeholders.
  • Currently possesses a U.S. Top Secret security clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Hands-on background as a former subsystem or discipline lead in flight test, avionics/electrical architecture, ground systems, or autonomy/software integration.
  • Experience partnering with or leading test organizations; familiarity with test campaign planning and execution.
  • Working knowledge of relevant military airworthiness, environmental, EMI/EMC, power, and cyber standards sufficient to integrate those concerns into the system baseline.
  • Hands-on experience with model-based systems engineering, digital engineering tools, simulation, and test equipment.
  • Experience integrating ground control stations, C2 systems, or datalinks into an air system architecture.
