Position Summary & Responsibilities

The Director, Integration and Test is a high profile role and this engineering lead is responsible for conceiving, planning, partnering and executing the integration and systems test functions for the whole of Logos payload, terminal and ground systems. Hence, a big part of the role is to give definition and meaning to this function in the Logos context, sizing it properly, simplifying it when necessary and then building the team and, through the team, and along with partner teams, owning the production readiness of the Logos system design. This person is the final gatekeeper for the design to reach production and is also responsible for setting up processes and methodologies for continuous improvement through continuous integration and test of new capabilities. This role will have direct visibility all the way up to the CEO.

You should be prepared to work and thrive in a fast moving environment where you are comfortable taking vague ideas and turning them into executable actions for the entire integration and systems test team. We are seeking Engineering leads who like to solve very hard problems!

The full responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for the overall System Integration and System Test of the Logos Space system
  • Responsible for the production quality and production readiness, from a function and performance perspective, of the Logos Space system
  • Responsible for building the System integration and test teams to match the scale of the task and ambition - but sized right to a startup context
  • Own integration and system testing timelines through conception and all phases of design and development
  • Responsible for conceiving, planning and building all the labs needed to scale to the proper system integration and test of the Logos Space system
  • Responsible for planning software and hardware releases both prior to the first launch and continuously thereafter through multiple generations of the system for all the segments of the system

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer science or a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with significant relevant experience in system design, integration and test of large hardware and software systems
  • A minimum of 15 years building hardware, software or silicon systems
  • Significant professional experience with team building, preferably in a small company context
  • Significant professional experience with team and function planning
  • Significant experience in planning, building and operating integration labs for large wireless systems
  • Significant experience in satcom and / or terrestrial wireless system design, integration and test
  • Hands on software or hardware experience (assembly, integration, and test) in either professional or academic settings
  • Proven track record of working with software or hardware systems through the entire product life cycle. Starting from conceptual designs and trade-offs through detailed design, development, manufacturing, integration, testing, deployment, and operations in a team setting.
  • Significantly experience in organizational, written, and oral communication and experience working with other strong functional leads

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Engineering or Computer science or a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with significant relevant experience in system design, integration and test of large hardware and software systems
  • 15+ years experience with wireless systems design, integration and test
  • 5+ years experience with leading system integration and test teams
  • Experience doing above in fast paced startups
  • Experience with building teams in a small company context
  • Experience in delivering products to production
