This role will oversee a unique team spanning Schwab Wealth Advisory (SWA) Fixed Income Consulting, SWA Options Consulting, and emerging Specialist capabilities designed to support client acquisition and prospecting efforts. The Director will lead multiple people leaders and client-facing consultant teams, providing both strategic direction and operational leadership across several specialized advice disciplines.

This role is responsible for shaping the long-term vision, service model, talent strategy, and client experience for a growing organization of portfolio investment specialists and wealth experts who support some of Schwab's most sophisticated advisory and wealth management clients with complex products. The leader will partner closely with leaders across Wealth and Advice Solutions, Schwab Wealth Advisory Portfolio Strategist, Schwab Wealth Advisory Leadership, Product Management, and Retail to drive growth, deepen client relationships, and expand specialist capabilities.

As a leader of leaders, this individual will build and develop high-performing management teams, establish organizational strategy, and ensure scalable execution across multiple business functions. The role will also help define and launch new specialist programs focused on prospect engagement, client acquisition, and wealth conversion opportunities, positioning Schwab for future growth and expanded advisory capabilities. This role will provide leadership and guidance to a team of portfolio & planning experts serving the field and SWA clients on complex portfolios involving potential transitions, concentrated positions, hedging across offerings that require analysis of projected risk and tax implications with proposed solutions to solve for multiple objective functions.

Leadership & Business Management:

• Proven track record of building teams and delivering exceptional results
• Ability to work hands on with team members to inspire and motivate all levels of staff towards both tactical and strategic delivery goals
• Deep understanding of fixed income markets, options strategies, portfolio construction, risk management, and wealth management solutions.
• Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional organization providing holistic leadership and management to deliver on the objectives
• Strong analytical and financial acumen with experience using business metrics to drive performance outcomes.
• Proven ability to manage multiple business lines with accountability for productivity, capacity, client outcomes, quality, and growth metrics.
• Extensive experience in leading solution delivery teams inclusive of scheduling, budgeting, and planning in an environment with aggressive delivery goals and client product launches.
• Ability to translate complex investment concepts into actionable guidance for advisors, specialists, and clients.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• Series 7 required
• Series 66 required
• Series 24 or Series 9/10 required
• CFA designation and/or CFP required
• Minimum 10+ years’ work experience in financial services, specifically with experience in investment analysis, with demonstrated experience in portfolio analysis with a focus on tax issues (capital gain/loss) and risk analysis and related tools and technology
• Minimum 5+ years direct people leader experience, proven ability to lead and coach wealth management professionals while possessing strong mentoring and employee development skills

Preferred:

• An advanced degree from a well-respected academic institution in investment management, financial engineering, or a similar discipline; coursework in business and technology is a plus
• Experience working with ultra-high net worth clients in the retail and advisory client segments
