Full Job Description
Responsible for driving the development and execution of supply chain strategies that maximize service, efficiency, resilience, and alignment with organizational goals. Lead cross-functional teams to implement transformative initiatives, optimize operational leverage, and accelerate business growth. Champion process improvements and innovation across purchasing, transportation, distribution center operations, and change management.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
• Sets the strategic direction for supply chain operations, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives.
• Leads cross-functional teams in the analysis and implement strategic initiatives in inventory management, logistics, transportation, and warehouse optimization.
• Develops robust business cases for change, clearly articulating value and resolving barriers to execution.
• Evaluates and enhances supplier relationship, focusing on best value, including service, quality and methods to improve productivity
• Drives change management efforts to ensure seamless, collaborating with senior leaders and field teams to ensure seamless transitions and adoption of new strategies.
• Partners with the business to create detailed, actionable supply chain plans that both support short-term and long-term organizational needs.
Nature and Scope
• Problems are typically defined by higher level leadership. Problems are difficult. Solutions require analysis and investigation.
• Decides how to achieve planned results within an organization's plans, policies, and guidelines. May set or change plans/goals within respective department or area.
• May manage department via multiple layers of managers OR directly supervise a staff of professional individual contributors at the senior or technical advisor level.
Work Environment
• Usually located in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors causing moderate physical discomfort, such as dust, fumes, or odors.
• Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
• Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.
Education and Experience
• Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally, 9+ years of experience in a related field, including several years in a management/supervisory capacity.
Preferred Qualifications
• 9+ years of experience in supply chain, operations strategy or corporate/business development.
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Purchasing, or related field. MBA preferred.
• Six Sigma/Lean Certification and demonstrated application preferred.
