Full Job Description
We9re looking for an experienced strategist, someone equally comfortable partnering with a client to get to a solution as they are collaborating with accounts and creative to find a more interesting solution to a problem, and a more impactful expression of an idea.
A successful Director, Strategy candidate will report directly to the VP Strategy, acting as day-to-day lead on key clients and projects, as well as supporting the overall direction, process, and collaboration across the strategy department at Diamond.
The right candidate will have a broad range of strategy experience and be as comfortable talking creative briefs as they are go-to-market plans. They will bring a thoughtful, strategic point of view to a range of brands, categories, and consumers. The most important thing we9re looking for is someone who can blend smart strategic thinking with an ambition to find new and better ways to solve problems.
Responsibilities:
b7 Day to day management of strategic projects and deliverables
b7 Ability to work directly with clients and develop relationships accordingly
b7 Creation of brand & campaign strategies, creative briefs, and client-facing POVs
b7 Guiding go-to-market strategy and/or channel planning for integrated campaigns.
b7 Collaborate with creative and account teams throughout the creative development process to develop Ideas that Perform
b7 Mentor and collaborate with junior & intermediate strategists
b7 Support clients on the development of consumer and creative research methodologies, analysis of results, and implications/opportunities
b7 Lead strategic client collaboration, including: Workshops, strategy presentations, and stakeholder interviews
Qualifications:
Great strategists can come from nearly any background, and some of the best start out with very non-traditional experience. While advertising and marketing experience is a key factor, we are looking for people with demonstrated success in simplifying and presenting complex concepts, ideas and problems to deliver compelling solutions.
b7 6+ years of experience in strategy-related roles, primarily in agencies
b7 Background in brand strategy, 360 creative/campaign development, and tactical campaign planning
b7 High comfort level with research and data, both quantitative and qualitative
b7 Current understanding of trends and best practices in marketing strategy
b7 Able to think in 'integrated'; not just great executions, but great experiences across an ecosystem
b7 Strong and enthusiastic presenter, with the ability to craft simple, compelling and impactful presentations
b7 Relentlessly curious, able to shift between theory and practice, and excited to learn at every possible opportunity
b7 Ability to work across different groups and disciplines to develop creative that will help clients achieve brand and business success
b7 Comfortable leading strategic projects with minimal oversight, using a solutions-oriented mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
