Full Job Description

We are looking for a Director, Strategy & Development to join our world-class team.

This is a high-visibility, mission-critical role that sits squarely at the intersection of Corporate Development, Project Development, and Strategic Finance. You will work closely with senior leadership to own the full execution cycle: evaluating and structuring strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and new build opportunities. You must bring both analytical rigor (robust modeling, diligence, and valuation) and creative dealmaking (structuring and negotiation) to the table, directly influencing the geographic footprint and technological diversification of Soluna's platform.

Soluna is entering an unprecedented phase of accelerated growth, strategically expanding our pioneering platform across North America through aggressive joint ventures, high-impact M&A, and greenfield development. This role puts you at the epicenter of that expansion, with the independence to drive complex initiatives from analysis through execution.

What You'll Do

Partnerships & Commercial Structuring

  • Develop and evaluate commercial structures for customer partnerships and joint ventures, taking ownership of deal terms and economic outcomes.
  • Lead negotiations with counterparties and coordinate with legal and technical teams through closing.
  • Build and maintain financial models to assess transaction economics and risk across a range of deal structures.

M&A & Asset Transactions

  • Drive financial and strategic analysis for M&A, asset acquisitions, and divestitures.
  • Build DCF, precedent, and comparable transaction models independently, with limited oversight.
  • Coordinate diligence, prepare investment memos, and lead integration planning.

Project Development

  • Originate and evaluate new site opportunities for modular data centers across North America.
  • Assess interconnection, permitting, and market conditions to inform go/no-go decisions.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and power marketing teams to optimize project design and returns.

What You Bring
Required

  • 6-9 years of experience in investment banking, corporate development, project finance, or strategy within energy, infrastructure, or data centers.
  • Strong command of financial modeling, valuation, and transaction structuring.
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex deal processes from analysis through execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of engaging directly with senior leadership and external partners.
  • Curiosity about both renewable energy and AI infrastructure, and a desire to work where those two worlds meet.

Preferred

  • MBA, CFA, or similar credential.
  • Experience in greenfield project development, including permitting and interconnection.
