About the role

As ATB Cormark Capital Markets scales, we are seeking a data-focused strategist to drive the formation and delivery of our business strategy. In this role, you will contribute towards strategic roadmaps, long-term planning, and evaluation of new opportunities. With a sharp strategic lens, you will own performance management metrics and drive a client insights program.

Operating at the intersection of strategy, advanced analytics, and execution, you will ensure our data and insights strategy directly accelerates the front-office sales pipeline. You will own the performance management KPI framework and executive reporting package, building seamless connectivity between the strategy team, business leadership, and Finance. You will build and own key relationships across the enterprise.

As a business-focused strategist and insights leader, you will drive the maturity of our insights into a predictive growth engine. This role requires exceptional stakeholder management to align data, roadmaps, and reporting frameworks to our overarching strategy.

This is an in office position based in either Toronto or Calgary.

Accountabilities

Corporate Strategy & Execution:
  • Lead high priority strategy engagements, acting as a collaborative strategic thought partner and trusted advisor. You will complete analysis to develop data driven recommendations.
  • Shape relevant data and market analysis into high-quality strategic recommendations, providing external and competitive insights where relevant.
  • Manage partners and cross-functional team members to deliver on strategic and objectives through the use of influence and relationship building.
  • Thinks creatively, communicates key messages and recommendations to executive audiences.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor to senior executives. Manages stakeholders at various levels, including c-suite executives.
  • Supports C-Suite on strategic priorities and ad hoc requests as necessary.
  • Operates as a resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.


Business Performance:
  • Develop and launch a comprehensive suite of leading / lagging KPIs paired with senior-leadership level reporting, including the tracking and publication of performance against defined North Stars.
  • Build, standardize, and maintain automated prescriptive dashboards that illuminate the path forward.
  • Partner with data teams to extract and analyze complex datasets to identify trends, client churn, and expansion opportunities.
  • Deliver quarterly performance deep dives and market analysis for senior leadership and board materials, ensuring data insights directly inform business decision-making.
  • Connect data with strategy.
  • Coordinate closely with finance and business leads.
  • Mine CRM data to uncover growth opportunities and institutionalize sophisticated, forward looking Salesforce reporting.
  • Lead structured data-preparation efforts to ensure the business is structurally primed to adopt AI and machine learning capabilities.


Skills, experience & requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in corporate strategy, sales enablement, or management consulting and a post-secondary degree in a related field of study. MBA, CFA considered an asset.
  • Experience within capital markets, investment banking, or corporate banking is required.
  • Proven track record of turning complex client datasets into actionable commercial strategies. You must be deeply experienced in tracking client churn, identifying pipeline expansion opportunities, and building forward-looking, predictive data frameworks.
  • Proven ability to work with senior management and decision makers and deliver data-driven recommendations, manage questions, and navigate a matrixed bank environment.
  • Capability to work alongside data scientists and engineers. You should be highly comfortable navigating data warehouses, business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI), and CRM analytics.
  • A self-starter who moves independently, connects day-to-day operations to macro corporate strategies, and effectively manages complex stakeholder dynamics with minimal supervision.
