Position is onsite and based in Miami, FL

Position Summary:

As a key member of the Corporate Finance & Strategy organization reporting directly to the AVP, Strategic Finance & Portfolio Operations, the Director, Strategic Joint Ventures & Partnerships will lead a team of investment and value creation professionals responsible for managing Royal Caribbean Group's portfolio of strategic joint ventures across the end-to-end investment lifecycle.

This role will focus on RCG's largest and most strategic joint ventures, including TUI Cruises, Grand Bahama Shipyard, Cruise Terminals International, and additional strategic investments as the portfolio evolves.

The Director will partner closely with Corporate Development, Corporate Strategy, Finance, Legal, Operations, Brand, and other cross-functional stakeholders to help underwrite new strategic investments, establish appropriate governance processes, manage the portfolio performance and drive value creation directly with the JV CEOs and management teams.

The ideal candidate will bring deep investment judgment, strong financial and strategic acumen, and demonstrated experience driving the underwriting, governance, performance management and value creation of large-scale investments. Relevant experience may include private equity, corporate development, investment management, investment banking, management consulting, or comparable roles involving complex transactions and portfolio oversight.

This position requires a self-starter who can operate autonomously, communicate effectively with C-suite executives, build alignment across internal stakeholders, and work externally with other JV shareholders, as well as JV CEOs and management teams. The Director will have regular access to privileged and confidential information and therefore, discretion in the dissemination of such information is paramount.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead RCG's strategic joint venture portfolio across the end-to-end investment lifecycle, including underwriting, governance, portfolio management, value creation, and exit readiness where applicable.
  • Drive underwriting and investment analysis for new JV opportunities, including strategic rationale, financial modeling, risk assessment, value creation thesis, governance rights, and internal approval materials.
  • Establish and oversee governance processes across the portfolio of Strategic JVs, including Board preparation, internal decision-making forums, performance reviews, and escalation of key risks and opportunities.
  • Partner with JV CEOs and management teams to develop and execute value creation plans, monitor performance against strategic and financial objectives, and identify opportunities to accelerate earnings, operational performance and strategic value.
  • Lead and develop a team of investment and value creation professionals dedicated to the strategic JV portfolio, ensuring clear priorities, high-quality analysis, strong execution discipline, and professional growth.
  • Coordinate with RCG stakeholders to share best practices, support integration and Day 1 readiness for new investments, and ensure portfolio priorities are connected to broader enterprise strategy and corporate planning processes.
  • Help shape strategic partnerships by identifying and evaluating partnership opportunities, driving negotiations with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting implementation to ensure alignment with RCG's strategic and financial objectives.
  • Develop executive-ready materials and recommendations for the SVP, Corporate Strategy & Development, the CFO, RCG Capital Committee, Steering Committees, Boards, and other senior governance forums.
  • Ensure appropriate controls, confidentiality, and judgment are applied in all financial, strategic, contractual, and governance matters involving RCG's strategic JV portfolio.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or similar graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of relevant experience, with demonstrated progression in investment, finance, corporate development, private equity, investment banking, management consulting, or comparable roles with a primary focus on strategic investments.
  • Experience working with joint ventures, portfolio companies, strategic partnerships, or other capital-intensive businesses preferred; direct experience shaping, negotiating, and implementing strategic partnerships is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to underwrite, evaluate, and manage large-scale investments, including complex financial modeling, valuation, investment thesis development, risk assessment, and performance management.
  • Strong business judgment and executive presence, with the ability to communicate clearly and credibly with C-suite leaders, Board members, JV partners, CEOs, and senior management teams.
  • Self-starter with intellectual curiosity, ownership mindset, sound judgment, and a high bar for analytical quality and work product.
  • Proven ability to operate autonomously in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and matrixed environment while managing multiple priorities and driving work to completion.
  • Demonstrated leader with the ability to build teams, foster collaboration, mentor employees, and create an environment of accountability, trust, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise, executive-ready materials and translate complex issues into clear trade-offs, risks, and recommendations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including the ability to align cross-functional partners across Finance, Legal, Operations, Commercial, Brand, Treasury, Tax, Accounting, and FP&A.
