Position Summary

The Director, Strategic Insights leads the Strategic Insights function by translating customer, market, and behavioural data into actionable insights that support business decisions. Reporting to the VP, Data Strategy, this role partners with brands and cross-functional teams to strengthen insight capabilities and embed a customer-focused, data-driven approach into planning, prioritization, and performance measurement across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and execute the enterprise Strategic Insights roadmap, integrating customer analytics, consumer research, and market intelligence into a unified capability
  • Lead advanced customer analytics and translate behavioural data into actionable strategies to improve acquisition, retention, engagement, and lifetime value
  • Oversee consumer and market research programs to inform brand positioning, strategic planning, and executive decision-making
  • Partner with senior leadership to embed insights into planning, prioritization, and performance measurement across the organization
  • Build and lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary insights team while driving adoption of data-driven decision-making and innovation


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in strategic insights, analytics, or research leadership within retail or consumer-driven environments
  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen with the ability to link insights to business outcomes and influence executive decisions
  • Deep expertise in quantitative and qualitative methodologies, including customer segmentation, predictive analytics, and market research
  • Proven leadership experience building and developing high-performing, cross-functional teams in a matrix environment
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling executive narratives
  • Bilingual French and English to communicate with teams and stakeholders across Canada
