Full Job Description
THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

The Director, Strategic Initiatives is a leadership role within GreenShield Cares, responsible for cultivating and leading strategic relationships with prospective and current GreenShield clients in the pursuit of creating shared value (CSV).

The individual will manage and grow GreenShield Cares partnerships and enterprise sales pipeline, cultivating large-scale partnerships in alignment with GreenShield Cares strategy and annual operating plan. Reporting to the VP of GreenShield Cares, the individual will foster a culture of collaboration, bringing the organization's social impact and business strategies together, advancing GreenShield as the preferred partner for purpose-driven organizations.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Sales to analyze research, benchmarking, and landscape analysis to build and grow a partnership pipeline across private, public, and social sectors
  • Identify opportunities to create shared value by winning or retaining business through GreenShield's social impact value proposition
  • Contribute to the development of proposals and pitch materials, positioning social impact value in responses to Requests for Proposals and new business opportunities
  • Cultivate prospective GreenShield clients and partners through outreach activities and relationship building aligned to GreenShield Cares strategy and annual operating plan
  • Actively manage and grow relationships with clients and partners to cultivate large-scale, values-aligned partnerships
  • Analyze, research, and benchmark ESG priorities and metrics across private and public sectors
  • Develop ESG benchmarks competitive within vendor and health insurance industries
  • Collaborate with partners and clients to develop customized impact reporting based on the impact of investments and partnerships
  • Execute strategic plans to embed Creating Shared Value (CSV) and integrate ESG across the enterprise
  • Develop and implement tools, frameworks, policies, and processes that support integration of social impact and business strategies


WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • Master's degree focusing on business, healthcare, social entrepreneurship, corporate social responsibility, or equivalent
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in business or healthcare strategy, operations, innovation, social impact, or related field
  • 6+ years of supervisory/managerial experience in a matrix organization with demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and teams
  • Demonstrated success developing pitches and proposals through written, verbal, and visual communications
    Experience in partnership development, including pipeline development, prospect qualification, and proposal development
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to align social issues with business capabilities and goals
  • Proficiency in managing complex projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, engaging with community groups, businesses, and government entities
  • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity, manage multiple priorities, and meet or exceed targets
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a demonstrated passion and commitment to social impact

Nice to Have:
  • Experience in both nonprofit and corporate environments, with demonstrated success in blended value partnerships
  • Experience in management consulting or a related field
  • Experience in corporate social responsibility, health insurance, sustainability, or a related field
  • Proficiency in French is considered an asset
