Job Description:

Job Title: Director, Sponsorships & Brand Licensing Sales

Location: North America - Remote

Reports to: VP, Sales

The Role:

JD Power is seeking a results-driven sales professional responsible for driving sponsorship revenue across JD Power's portfolio of industry-leading events and conferences. This role will focus on identifying, developing, and closing strategic sponsorship partnerships that connect brands with influential audiences across the automotive, financial services, insurance, and energy sectors.

In addition to sponsorship sales, this individual will support revenue growth through the sale of JD Power merchandise, recognition products, and activation solutions that help award-winning organizations extend the value of their achievements across marketing, communications, retail, and employee engagement channels.

Key buyer audiences include marketing, brand, communications, sponsorship, partnerships, corporate events, customer experience, and executive leadership teams.

The ideal candidate is a consultative seller with a proven track record in sponsorship sales, business development, and executive-level relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

Sponsorship Sales & Business Development
  • Own sponsorship revenue targets across JD Power events and conferences.
  • Identify, prospect, and develop relationships with prospective sponsors across multiple industries.
  • Build customized sponsorship proposals aligned with client marketing objectives and business goals.
  • Negotiate sponsorship agreements and close new business opportunities.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract execution.
  • Work closely with Event Marketing to develop compelling sponsorship offerings.
  • Maintain an active pipeline and accurate forecasting within Salesforce.
  • Develop multi-year sponsorship partnerships that drive recurring revenue growth.


Strategic Partnership Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for sponsorship clients.
  • Deliver exceptional client service while identifying opportunities for account expansion.
  • Partner closely with Brand Licensing, Event Marketing, Customer Success, industry sales teams, and operations to identify eligible clients, package opportunities, coordinate fulfillment, and maximize revenue across sponsorship and recognition solutions.
  • Represent JD Power at conferences and events to support sponsor relationships, identify expansion opportunities, and ensure a strong client experience.


JD Power Merchandise Sales
  • Partner with award-winning organizations to develop merchandise, recognition, and branding solutions that celebrate and amplify their achievements.
  • Consult with clients on how to leverage JD Power accolades through trophies, displays, employee recognition items, retail activations, and promotional products.
  • Identify opportunities to expand engagement and drive incremental revenue through customized recognition and merchandise programs.


Metrics & Measures of Success
  • Achievement of individual bookings targets
  • Event sponsorship revenue and new sponsor acquisition
  • Sponsorship renewal rate and multi-year sponsorship growth
  • JD Power merchandise and recognition-solution revenue
  • Attach rate of merchandise or activation solutions to winning brands
  • Pipeline size, velocity, conversion rate, and forecast accuracy
  • Expansion within existing accounts and growth in total account value
  • Client experience, fulfillment coordination, and renewal readiness


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5+ years of sponsorship sales, event sales, partnership sales, or related business development experience.
  • Proven success in high-activity, high-velocity sales environments.
  • Track record of exceeding quota and driving upsell and cross-sell growth.
  • Strong executive-level communication and negotiation skills.
  • High degree of accountability, organization, and sales discipline.
