Director, Senior Investment Research AnalystReporting to the Head of Manager Research/Asset Allocation, the Director, Sr. Investment Research Analyst, is a key leadership role within TIAA Wealth Investment Management. This role is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and monitoring external and affiliated investment managers across traditional and alternative asset classes. This role is expected to have an immediate focus on supporting the investment strategy, infrastructure, and selection methodology build out for private market funds.
Key Responsibilities and Duties- Serve as a primary lead for private market investing for the firm's advisory programs, with responsibility for end-to-end manager sourcing and underwriting, investment strategy, and thought leadership.
- Support investment strategy and portfolio construction decisions related to private market investments by working in collaboration with the asset allocation teams.
- Lead thought leadership initiatives on private markets by developing written content to support advisors and portfolio managers, as well as participate on internal and external engagements.
- Serve as a trusted resource for private market investments by providing education to advisors, portfolio managers, and clients.
- Responsible for conducting in-depth quantitative and qualitative analysis and due diligence of public and private market investment managers.
- Responsible for executing the manager research fund selection process by sourcing new investment managers and generating comprehensive thesis reports to support investment manager selection and oversight processes.
- Evaluate and monitor investment manager performance and risk, in addition to qualitative criteria including organizational stability, investment personnel, investment & risk management process, investment capacity, regulatory compliance, and analytical criteria.
- Responsible for coordinating all aspects of due diligence and monitoring process, including submitting due diligence questionnaires, leading investment manager meetings/on site visits, and developing annual assessments for coverage area.
- Responsible for all governance and procedural aspects related to developing and maintaining an approved list of investment managers to support Managed Accounts and affiliated businesses.
- Remain current on industry trends related to market and product developments, changes to investment vehicle structures, and the launch of new strategies.

- Strong background in sourcing and underwriting private market funds within the wealth channel.
- Strong knowledge and subject matter expertise on evergreen, interval, semi-liquid vehicle structures. Experience with the iCapital platform preferred.
Location(s): This position is deemed Hybrid Flex which means this position will not be a fully remote position but will allow for some flexibility. This position will be associated with the following TIAA metropolitan marketplaces or offices: Charlotte, NC or Frisco, TX.

Base Pay Range: $138,000/yr - $223,000/yr
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
