Job Description

Directs and evaluates the staff and activities for the Security and Parking Garage. Establishes the goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the Security and Parking Operations. Oversees orientation and training of security programs. Supervises and evaluates the performance of staff.

Job Responsibility

  • Leads a Security group by communicating with and developing staff members, and building consensus for programs and goals that support a business, function or geographic area.
  • Develops and articulates a short-term strategic vision for areas of responsibility.
  • Designs, plans, and directs the implementation of strategic plans to improve the overall efficiency of the security and parking functions.
  • Develops and oversees financial management including budget, salary, capital, and revenue projections and secures approvals from the leadership.
  • Participates in design and implementation of total quality management initiatives; advises administration of deficiencies or areas of non-compliance in Quality Management.
  • Directs and oversees investigations relating to security vulnerability and ensures action; coordinates efforts with Legal Affairs in matters pertaining to regulatory and criminal law.
  • Oversees processes which are necessary to maintain the integrity of department records; oversees staff and management of the access control system.
  • Ensures all departments have appropriate training and orientation for all security programs.
  • Selects, develops, manages, and evaluates direct reports; oversees the selection, development, management, and evaluation of indirect reports.
  • Evaluates performance and ensures appraisals are completed on a timely basis; participates in committees (i.e. Disaster Control Committee and Safety Committee.).
  • Oversees the proper servicing of vehicles maintained by Security Department or vehicles/equipment used within Parking Operations.

Job Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 8-12 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of leadership / management experience, required.
