Your Role in Supporting Our Members:As a
Director, Security Architecture & Operations, you will provide strategic leadership for Vancity's Security Operations and Security Architecture functions, driving the continued advancement of enterprise cybersecurity capabilities. You will lead high-performing teams, oversee the development and execution of cybersecurity programs, and contribute to the organization's cybersecurity strategy and multi-year roadmap. This role partners closely with technology and business leaders to strengthen cyber resilience, manage risk, and ensure security capabilities evolve in alignment with organizational priorities. We are seeking an experienced cybersecurity leader with expertise in security operations, security architecture, people leadership, strategic planning, and technology transformation.
This is a
Full-time, Permanent role based at our Vancity head office and will report directly to the
VP, Cyber & IT Risk. While this position provides a hybrid work arrangement, you will be expected to be on-site for events and business demands.
How You'll Make an Impact:- Leading and coaching the Managers of Security Architecture and Security Operations to build high-performing and engaged teams
- Establishing departmental priorities, performance expectations, and capability development strategies across both functions
- Providing strategic oversight for security monitoring, threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, and cyber defense programs
- Overseeing security architecture standards, governance processes, and participation in enterprise architecture review activities
- Partnering with technology and business leaders to deliver strategic cybersecurity initiatives and operational improvements
- Contributing to and executing Vancity's cybersecurity strategy and multi-year roadmap
- Presenting significant cybersecurity initiatives, risks, and outcomes to senior leadership teams and executive leadership
- Supporting quarterly Board reporting through the preparation and communication of cybersecurity updates and risk insights
- Managing vendor partnerships, technology evaluations, pricing negotiations, and investment decisions within delegated authority
- Overseeing departmental budgets, resource planning, and future investment requirements to support strategic priorities
What You'll Bring to the Team:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, information security, security operations, security architecture, or technology risk management
- Minimum 5 years of senior leadership experience leading managers and technical security teams
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing cybersecurity strategies, roadmaps, and enterprise security programs
- Strong expertise in security operations, threat management, incident response, vulnerability management, and security architecture
- Experience managing technology vendors, strategic partnerships, and complex cybersecurity investments
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing departmental budgets and strategic resource planning
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, including experience presenting to executive leadership and boards
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CCSP, GIAC, or equivalent are considered an asset

What You'll Earn:This role offers a salary range of
$163,300 to $220,900 per annum. The base pay offered may vary depending on factors such as relevant qualifications, skills, previous experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards package, employees may also be eligible for our annual incentive program, subject to program eligibility requirements.
