Position Summary
The Director of Healthcare Sales Training is responsible for the leadership, business partnership, quality and delivery of highly impactful training programs for 10+ sales channels across healthcare. Inclusive of sales training, including developing, delivering, and managing training programs to improve the knowledge and skills of sales representatives. The Director of Healthcare Sales Training works with the Vice President of Project Operations, Human Resources team, Marketing and Sales leadership to create a training strategy to address the needs of Sales to ensure our sales professionals can capitalize their product knowledge and sales craft to be successful.
This position is remote with frequent travel to the corporate headquarters in Mentor, OH.
What you will do as Director, Healthcare Sales Training
Sales
• Program development for on-boarding all new healthcare sales representatives, management and specialist positions. On-boarding includes providing oversight and guidance to information on vendor credentialing, travel services, territory information, expense reports, sales reporting, vehicle reimbursement and necessary paperwork. The on-boarding program also provides day 1 to 101 program for all new hires to complete before training starts.
• Assess sales force for strengths and skill gaps; development of programs to address those competency gaps in tandem with education and human resources
• Creation of multi-level sales training programs for all divisions within healthcare.
• Content creation, organization, deployment, follow up and management of the Continuous Improvement (CI) organizations global training program.
• Multi-level sales training programs include 101 basic learning, 201 hands on training, 301 skill assessment, 401 competitive skill building programs. All programs require agenda, curricula, subject matter expert identification and training materials. All programs are created to support both a live setting, as well as a virtual environment.
• Management of the field sales trainers' assignments, activities and objective approval/bonus for the Reprocessing and Procedural groups.
• Presentation and delivery of clinical, technical and sales materials including: selling skills, sales management training, presentation skills, and product and clinical sales presentations
• Sales competency identification and program development to competencies in tandem with human resources
• Creation of instructor-led, distance learning, video-based, just-in time, video role playing, streaming and boost learning and other formatted curricula as necessary.
• Manage a team of training and development specialists
• Develops and owns the training on all new products launched by Reprocessing Capital, Consumables, GI Reprocessing and Procedural divisions.
• Develops and launches the deployment strategy regarding the training of new products.
• Responsible for ensuring the Agile Selling Platform is incorporated into the product training to ensure adoption of the program and sales representative skill advancement.
• Provide Expertise and leadership on the learning management systems (SAP Success Factors)
• Support and leadership of Sales Enablement tool (Highspot) within the healthcare division.
• Promote video support and creation as the field requires
• Lead position in creating, structuring, and deploying training for the STERIS Global Meeting for all healthcare divisions.
Technical
• Educate personnel and conduct in-services on STERIS core Healthcare products thorough understanding of Sterilization, Endoscopy, Urology, Instrument Reprocessing and Surgical support products
• Understands technology and programs in the med device industry that support the growth of the sales training team and required tools to enable success.
Analytical
• Forecast annual program needs to meet organizational growth
• Forecast annual programs and resource budget for employee education
• Define performance objectives for field sales personnel
• Measure effectiveness of training programs and develop reports and comprehensive programs analysis
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed
Required
• Bachelor's degree
• 15 years of Training/Training Management Experience
• 5+ years of people management
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to build, implement and refine a Learning and Development strategy that supports the growth aspirations of the company
• LMS Experience required
Preferred
• 6 years of sales/sales management experience in medical device field is strongly preferred

Pay range for this opportunity is $144,500 - $178,500. This position is eligible for bonus participation.
Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
