About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Safety & Compliance to lead enterprise-wide safety, compliance, corporate security, and risk management programs across our growing 3PL organization. This leader will drive a proactive safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance across warehouse and transportation operations, and reduce overall risk exposure.

This role reports to the Chief HR & Compliance Officer and partners closely with Operations leadership to balance safety, compliance, and operational efficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead Safety & OSHA Compliance
• Own all OSHA compliance across warehouse operations
• Drive injury prevention programs, incident investigations, and safety training
• Ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance across multiple facilities

Oversee Transportation Compliance
• Provide oversight of DOT/FMCSA compliance programs
• Ensure adherence to driver qualification, hours of service, drug & alcohol, and fleet safety requirements
• Monitor regulatory changes and maintain audit readiness

Direct Corporate Security
• Lead physical security, access control, and loss prevention initiatives
• Oversee incident investigations and facility risk assessments

Manage Claims & Risk
• Oversee general liability, property damage, and bodily injury claims
• Partner with insurance carriers and brokers to mitigate loss exposure
• Analyze trends and implement preventative strategies

Build & Lead a High-Performing Team
• Lead a team of functional leaders across EHS, DOT compliance, security, and compliance
• Establish accountability, performance standards, and scalable processes across multiple sites

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work is generally performed in a warehouse environment. The noise level is moderate. Generally, well ventilated, and well lit. Warehouse team members may be required to wear protective clothing. Additionally, may operate heavy equipment and strict safety regulations may be required.

PHYSICAL EFFORT:

Work is physically strenuous, and team members are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds. Work may require excessive bending or stooping. Team members may be required to climb ladders, use hand tools, and/or use heavy machinery (e.g., forklift, etc.). The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Light duty options may be available.

Requirements

Required
  • 7+ years of leadership experience in safety, compliance, or risk management
  • Strong expertise in OSHA and warehouse safety environments
  • Experience leading teams in multi-site or operational settings
  • Proven ability to build and implement safety and compliance programs
  • Ability and willingness to respond to safety, security, or operational incidents outside of standard business hours
  • Availability for emergency calls and incident response as needed to support a 24/7 operation

Preferred
  • Experience with FMCSA/DOT compliance
  • Exposure to claims management (WC, GL, PD, BI)
  • Experience with corporate or physical security programs
  • Professional certifications (CSP, CIH, COSS, etc.) are a plus
