Job Overview
The Director of Addictive Services serves as the final administrative and clinical authority responsible for the day-to-day operations of the clinic. This executive-level leadership role combines advanced outpatient substance use disorder treatment knowledge with corporate business acumen to supervise all staff activity, policy development, and clinical decision-making. Working in close collaboration with the Medical Director and Regional Director, the Director ensures the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective healthcare that meets or exceeds all state, federal, and network standards.

Qualifications

Required:
  • Master's degree in healthcare administration, social work, psychology, nursing, or a related mental health/business field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of formal administrative, supervisory, or executive-level leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated compliance with a mandatory, network-paid New Jersey state-level criminal history record background check and fingerprinting prior to hire.
  • Strong baseline of advanced clinical reasoning, administrative organization, and high-level interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strict adherence to recovery compliance standards: All candidates in recovery must attest to having a minimum of one year of continuous sobriety/abstinence and sign an official Affidavit of Recovery.

Preferred:
  • Prior executive experience directing a licensed outpatient substance use disorder (SUD) or methadone treatment facility.
  • Working knowledge of state and federal regulatory frameworks, including FDA, DEA, and State ADP data submission protocols.
  • Proven track record in healthcare product development, strategic marketing, and regional referral relations.

Scheduling Requirements
  • Shift working, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM each day
  • Days to work: Monday through Friday
  • Status: Full-Time (FT) / Salaried

Essential Functions
  • Oversees all day-to-day administrative and clinical operations of the clinic, managing staff activity, resource allocation, and department decision-making.
  • Develops, manages, and implements all core clinical policies, operational manuals, and public affairs/community relations strategies.
  • Compiles and submits regulatory protocols, program amendments, and operational data reports to State and Federal Departments in full alignment with the Regional Director.
  • Ensures strict compliance with all hospital policies, state laws, and federal regulations regarding the security of medications, patient records, and employee documentation (FDA, DEA, State ADP).
  • Guarantees total patient rights protection and strict confidentiality safeguards across all medical and clinical care workflows.
  • Spearheads strategic initiatives, including the integration of SAS and Williamson St. for centralized SUD assessments and treatment tracking by December 2025.
  • Formulates and implements two new clinical product developments and programs annually in direct response to evolving community and market needs.
  • Promotes and expands referral relations and healthcare marketing initiatives to systematically increase non-indigent business volume.
  • Implements specialized quality control programs, launching at least three new Quality Control initiatives for the unit to support continuous performance improvement.
  • Standardizes individualized treatment plan protocols to ensure patients can easily identify and track measurable clinical objectives.
  • Drives the universal S.A.F.E.T.Y. culture across the department by communicating clearly, using S.T.A.R. techniques, maintaining a questioning attitude, and fostering robust teamwork.
