POSITION OVERVIEW:As a Retirement Plan & Wealth Management Advisor you will spend your day focused on servicing and maintaining your block of retirement plan clients. This will include daily responding to emails or proactively coordinating meetings and being a support to them. You will be given a block of clients to manage in either a shared capacity with an existing advisor, or in a stand-alone capacity where you are their primary point of contact. Most of your investment review and committee meetings with either be quarterly or semi-annually. You will also work with a team of retirement plan advisors to create retirement plan education strategies for plan sponsors which will include webinars, 1 on 1 participant meetings, and newsletters. To excel in this role, you should already have the appropriate licenses and knowledge of all the latest financial products on the market. A successful advisor is organized, responsive, proactive, knowledgeable, self-motivated, and dedicated to excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities- Service and maintain a block of retirement plan clients
- Meet with retirement plan committees to review investments, fees, fiduciary responsibilities, plan design, and general compliance
- Provide employee education support for clients and with existing team members as needed.
- Create retirement plan education strategies for plan sponsors which include webinars and newsletters.
- Provide guidance to participants regarding their retirement plan accounts (general guidance, instructions for updating investments/contributions, discussing options for rollovers, distributions, etc.)
- Participate in day-to-day communication with clients and participants proactively.
- Ensure the highest level of customer service and satisfaction.
- Contribute to various team meetings.
- Contribute to a positive workplace environment.
- Perform other related duties as requested by clients or managers.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills- Strong understanding of financial services industry and diverse investment products
- Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point) are essential
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Strong time management and organizational skills; able to work independently and effectively manage multiple tasks at once
- Ability to build relationships with clients and internal partners and influence others without direct control
Education and/or Experience:- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
- The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in the financial services industry (specifically the retirement plan arena) allowing for a strong understanding of broker/dealer operations and financial services products, including but not limited to equities, bonds, options, mutual funds, annuities, insurance, and managed accounts
- Previous experience in the independent financial services culture preferred
- Certificates, Licenses, Registration:
- Series 6 or 63 required
- Series 65/66 preferred (or ability to obtain)
The expected salary range for this position is $145,000 - $175,000k depending on geographical location and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate's skills, experience and working location, as well as the specific position's business line, scope and level.
