Summary:
The Director, Retail has the primary responsibility of overseeing the Auxiliaries' purchasing strategies, policies, procedures, and processes consistent with Ballad Health's mission and strategic objectives as established. This position supports the Corporate Director of Volunteer and Auxiliary resources to maximize GPO contract, purchasing opportunities, and develop negotiated contracts to increase income. The Director will be resourceful in finding new and creative ways to optimize the work of the hospitals' retail buyers and maximize the buying power of the supply budget. The Director is responsible for furthering the development of innovative solutions to reduce procurement supply costs, furthering implementation of product standardization and addressing utilization opportunities.
The Director is responsible for the procurement and maintenance of inventories for the system. The Director is engaged with a variety of inventory management, contract compliance and stock management responsibilities; is responsible for point of sale order system support; develops and executes a strategic sourcing process for related goods and services. The Director is in contact with each store weekly if not daily and daily monitors sales at each location. This individual is also responsible for setting up newly acquired stores with cash registers/POS system, serving as the liaison between IS system and POS system including any updates.

The Director is responsible for the analysis and procurement of a wide range of merchandise for up to twenty retail stores. This individual will ensure proactive maintenance of inventory for up to twenty gift shops. The Director will monitor supplier performance and manage continuous quality improvement. Additionally, the Director will attend Markets and maintain quality merchandise for all gift shops as well as merchandise that meets the customer needs which includes staying abreast of national and regional trends. The Director will identify and develop cost savings alternatives, as well as to ensure on-time delivery performance form our suppliers. The Director will communicate regarding status of purchase orders and any changes. This individual will ensure that all materials are purchased in a timely and competitive manner to support production/operations groups. The Director will qualify and select appropriate vendors. This individual will also maintain on call status to all volunteers serving in gift shops. The Director wil coordinate contract and system compliance and track realized savings and income. In addition, the Director will implement a continuous improvement cycle to realize year to year incremental improvements and cost savings. The Director will leverage spending in the alliance to maximize benefits to all impacted sites. The Director will have oversight for all Auxiliary retail operations, budgets, daily/monthly sales while working harmoniously with accounting representative. The Director will establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all levels of staff, external agencies and business community. This individual will perform other duties as required.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Merchandising, or Retail Management required, Master's degree preferred. Minimum five years experience in retail management.
