Full Job Description

The Director of Reporting and Analytics oversees internal and external reporting, analytics, and data visualization within the Research, Assessment, Data Analytics and Reporting (RADAR) office, supervising the Assistant Director of Reporting and data analysts and facilitating weekly data team meetings. The Director is responsible for maintaining and expanding college-wide reporting dashboards, creating data visualizations, coordinating data compilation for accreditation processes, developing and implementing data quality assurance processes, managing a calendar of scheduled reports, prioritizing and assigning ad hoc requests for data and reports, communicating data to the college community, and ensuring that data and report repositories are kept up to date.


The Director is also responsible for developing and implementing an annual plan for report and dashboard development and data-related professional development for college employees, finding and recommending new uses for existing data, building predictive models, and developing and maintaining key performance indicators for the strategic plan and other significant institutional initiatives. A successful Director will be ready to help the team navigate new systems, support the implementation of a data warehouse, and lead the development of new reports and dashboards. The Director serves as the institution's IPEDS keyholder and as a member of the research team within RADAR.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Data Management: Maintain Tableau Cloud; Identify new data and data sources and incorporate into the dashboards.
  • Supervise data team members; Facilitate weekly data team meetings; Identify team training needs; Implement professional development for data team members; Conduct performance reviews for data team members.
  • Develop and implement data quality assurance processes for data and reports; Ensure data and report repositories are kept up to date.
  • Manage calendar of scheduled reports; Prioritize and assign ad hoc requests for data and reports; Develop strategies to address complex requests; Coordinate data compilation for accreditation purposes; Serve as IPEDS keyholder.
  • Develop and implement annual plan for report and dashboard development; Build and enhance dashboards and data visualizations; Find and recommend new uses for existing data; Build predictive models; Develop and maintain institutional key performance indicators.
  • Communicate data to the college community; Develop and implement annual data-related professional development schedule for college employees.
  • Design and implement studies to assess efficacy of institutional initiatives; Conduct comprehensive environmental scans for institutional strategic planning processes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's Degree in field related to data analytics and/or higher education.
  • At least two years of experience in higher education and at least four years' experience with data management and analysis.
  • At least two years of writing SQL queries. Experience with reporting using Colleague preferred.
  • Experience with dashboarding software such as Tableau, Power BI, or Colleague Insights. Additional experience with advanced functions in Excel, SPSS, PowerPoint, written and verbal communication, project management.
  • Familiarity with research methodology and data quality assurance practices.
  • Familiarity with software implementation and development of new reporting environments.

SALARY RANGE $73,695 - $87,000 (commensurate with experience)


WORK ARRANGEMENT

This is a hybrid position. The successful candidate is expected to work on the Newtown Campus a minimum of three (3) days per week, with remote work available in accordance with College policy and departmental needs.
