Directs, plans, and organizes the staff and activities of Rehabilitation Services to achieve approved clinical goals, and strategic operating plans and objectives.
Job Responsibility
- Leads a Rehabilitation Services group by communicating with and developing staff members, and building consensus for programs and goals that support a business, function or geographic area.
- Develops and articulates a short-term strategic vision for areas of responsibility.
- Develops and monitors strategic operating goals, objectives and budget; reports operational performance, justification and/or corrective action.
- Ensures the quality of services provided and administers direct patient care in accordance with the referral of a licensed physician or other state authorized practitioner.
- Ensures related compliance with government and agency regulations (e.g. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Joint Commission, etc.).
- Ensures departmental records and statistics are maintained and in compliance with all internal and external regulatory requirements.
- Approves application process for prosthetists/orthotists requesting approval to provide services to Hospital patients.
- Directs and develops implementation/reinforcement of Departmental programs, policies and procedures.
- Ensures the quality and appropriateness of patient care and equipment.
- Oversees the development, integration, communication, implementation, and performance evaluation of operating policies and procedures.
- Develops and manages direct reports, and oversees the development and management of their staff.

Job Qualification
- Master's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Current License to practice as a Physical Therapist in New York State, or Current License to practice as a Registered Occupational Therapist in New York State, or Current License to practice as a Speech Pathologist in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
- 8-12 years of relevant experience and 7+ years of leadership / management experience, required.
