Job Description:

The Director, Regional Grocery is responsible for achieving profitable sales growth across multiple customers for the Mars Snacking business. This role leads the development and execution of customer growth strategies, builds and sustains executive-level customer relationships, and drives business results through a high-performing sales organization. This role drives sustainable revenue growth, profitability, customer satisfaction, and category leadership by translating company strategies into customer-specific go-to-market plans and ensuring exceptional execution across key accounts. This role reports to a VP or Senior Director and is part of the Field Sales Organization.

The Director, Channel plays a critical role in shaping customer strategies, influencing cross-functional priorities, and delivering business results through strong partnerships internally and externally. The role leads a team of sales professionals and serves as a senior relationship owner across a portfolio of strategic customers. This role is based in a Home Office environment with travel up to 40% as business needs require.

What are your key responsibilities?
  • Lead the translation of company business strategies, priorities, and objectives into customer-specific go-to-market plans that drive profitable growth.
  • Develop and execute annual account business plans that deliver customer satisfaction, return on investment, and sustainable business growth.
  • Bring analytical rigor, innovation, and creative thinking to customer planning, product launches, and day-to-day business operations.
  • Create and implement customer solutions across assortment, shelving, merchandising, pricing, promotion, and seasonal programs that support both customer and company objectives.
  • Influence customer decision-making through fact-based selling, category insights, and strategic recommendations that deliver mutual value.
  • Lead customer-facing execution of new product launches to maximize marketplace impact and commercialization success.
  • Oversee forecasting, business analytics, and operational execution to ensure continuous improvement and proactive business management.
  • Leverage customer, category, and marketplace insights to identify growth opportunities and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Manage customer trade investments and budgets in compliance with internal controls and external requirements.
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing talent while building robust succession plans.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and lead associates to achieve business and development objectives.

What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 12+ years of Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) sales experience.
  • Experience serving as a technical or business leader within a headquarters-based sales organization.
  • Proven experience leading Key Account Management across both large and small customer accounts.
  • Demonstrated success developing, coaching, and managing direct reports.
  • Experience managing customer P&Ls and delivering profitable business growth.
  • Experience in Customer Marketing and commercialization strategies.
  • Strong strategic planning, commercial negotiation, and financial management capabilities.
  • Expertise in customer account management and category leadership.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the below range, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, if eligible, including variable pay & general allowances (depending on the position and employee's work schedule). Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable policies and plans then in effect, and depending on the position offered and the employee's work schedule (i.e., part-time schedule), eligible employees are automatically enrolled in a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee's eligible dependents, and may be eligible to take up to 18 weeks of paid parental leave. Employees will also receive the following paid-time off (which may be prorated based on start date and the employee's work schedule): 120 hours of vacation per year, paid sick time for eligible Associates of 100% pay continuation for a maximum of 40 hours per calendar year, and 12 paid holidays throughout the calendar year that include both fixed and flexible holidays.
