The Director, Regional Campuses will provide oversight to the regional campuses on a daily basis as a direct report to the Associate Provost for Faculty and Academic Excellence.

The Director will be expected to supervise the staff for the current regional campus locations, collaborate with Academic Colleges and Departments to provide strategic planning for instruction and programs to meet the unique needs within each community, and oversee the daily duties of operating regional campus locations.

The regional campus locations include Elizabethtown, Ft. Knox, Glasgow, Somerset, and Owensboro. The successful candidate for Director, Regional Campuses must be knowledgeable about and focused on the students, constituents and communities served by the WKU Regional Campuses, including the development of academic and student focused programming, maintenance of physical buildings and grounds, and development of strong community relationships. This is a full-time, twelve-month position.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide supervision for approximately 13 full-time staff, including evaluations, personnel hiring, development, and goal setting
• Provide strategic direction for program development in collaboration with Colleges and Departments to meet the needs of the regional students
• Provide leadership in developing community relationships and other regionally located institutional partners at each of the regional locations
• Manage the Regional Campuses' annual budget and provide financial oversight, including monitoring and balancing budgetary expenses.
• Ensure the physical environment at each location facilitates safety and learning for students, staff, faculty, and clients including strategies and oversight for both physical plant and technology. This includes the offices at Elizabethtown, Ft. Knox, and Somerset, and the buildings and grounds at Glasgow and Owensboro.
• Under the direction of the Associate Provost for Faculty and Academic Excellence, provide leadership to provide excellent academic support services to regional students at all off-campus instructional sites under the regional campus umbrella, including the Early College Program in Glasgow.
• Develop and implement effective initiatives that will further WKU's mission to serve this region. This will include working with Enrollment and Student Experience offices to support recruitment and retention efforts for transfer and regional students.

Requirements:

• Master's Degree
• Demonstrated strong leadership skills
• Good organizational, planning, and coordination skills
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and re-prioritize as needed
• Must demonstrate strong knowledge of WKU programs and regional education particular to the WKU Regional Campuses
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative relationships
• Good verbal presentation, group dynamic, and facilitation skills
• Demonstrated supervisory experience
• Demonstrated ability to develop effective operating procedures and long-range plans
• Demonstrated ability to champion regional campus strengths and needs to a variety of constituencies including political representatives, educational boards, and the general public
• Must possess valid Kentucky driver's license
• Ability to spend significant periods of time at a computer workstation
• Ability to travel between regional campus locations

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000

Kentucky state law requires all public institutions of postsecondary education to conduct pre-employment criminal background checks to determine suitability for employment.
