Job Summary and Qualifications

Position Summary: This position supports the mission of HCA HealthONE in optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person.

The Director of Quality, Regulatory and Data Science is responsible for supporting the VP of Quality in advancing the organization's quality improvement goals, utilizing data analysis and visualizations tools, while also creating and maintaining a culture of continual regulatory readiness. This position will be active in patient care areas, observing practices, reviewing medical records and collaborating with management, front line staff and the medical staff when there are opportunities to improve the organization's compliance. The Director of Quality, Regulatory and Data Science will lead survey readiness activities, facilitate all accreditation, certification, and complaint surveys and will keep licensure current. Additionally, the position will interface with the HCA HealthONE data science team and other facility clinical data analysts to develop reporting, and analytics tools to support the company's clinical excellence goals. This position will utilize a variety of query, programming, and visualization platforms to produce actionable data designed to support current clinical initiatives and programs.

As part of their role, the Director of Quality, Regulatory and Data Science will oversee the successful initiation and/or maintenance of accreditation and certification programs by ensuring ongoing adherence to program protocols and therapies. This includes collaboration with medical and hospital staff to provide multidisciplinary care to patients with a diagnosis within designated programs. Collaborates with physicians and staff to meet clinical excellence objectives, including mortality, complications, HACs/HAIs, and ventilator days. Collects and analyzes program patient data to assist with documentation, clinical care and improved outcomes.

In addition to overseeing facility accreditation and certification programs, and development of reports and data tools, this position will support the VP of Quality and the Patient Safety Officer with the performance of root cause analyses, SEAs, and other patient safety initiatives through electronic data abstraction, data analysis and chart reviews.

This position supports the development and implementation of the facility strategic plan through data analysis, consultation on clinical and regulatory requirements, and process evaluation. The position will lead various programs aimed at improving care delivery and quality variance reduction, through audits, education programs, and predictive analytics programs/models.

II.Position Requirements:

A.Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license.

B.Education: Bachelor's degree

C.Experience Preferred: 3-5 years clinical experience, 2-3 years quality improvement, CQI or SPC experience. 1-2 years utilizing SQL for data querying.

D.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Familiarity with Joint Commission, Medicare, and State requirements, laws and standards. This includes an understanding of local fire code and NFPA [redacted]. Extensive computer knowledge and experience required including utilization of SQL, Python, PowerBI, and Excel. Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills. Experience present to small and large groups. Able to lead RCAs and SEAs to evaluate variations in care.
