Full Job Description
Position Overview:

As our Director of Quality Assurance you will report directly to the site General Manager, as a senior staff member. You'll be responsible to lead a team of managers that direct quality control inspectors and NDT examiners, quality assurance engineers, auditors, and administration professionals. You will own site compliance to our quality management system and be responsible for overseeing internal root cause and corrective action programs. The successful candidate must have exceptional communication skills necessary to motivate their team and create a strong collaboration culture with other departments. You'll also need to have a strong drive for continuous improvement so that quality personnel are efficient and the business evaluates and adopts the best emerging technologies to improve inspection and assurance activities. You'll also be expected to present quality performance and initiatives to executives and senior customer stakeholders with transparency and confidence.

Your Challenge as Director of Quality Assurance:
  • Direct and improve the daily operations of all quality functions to support a 24/7 production environment
  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of quality managers to maximize their effectiveness and grow their careers
  • Ensure a fair and transparent work environment for quality personnel that maximizes employee satisfaction and achieves business objectives
  • Be the direct liaison with customer and government Quality Assurance management representatives
  • Assure the maintenance of Quality auditing and inspection activities
  • Revise and maintain Quality Management System instructions and procedures
  • Establish quality specific training programs and initiatives for the site
  • Facilitate a learning organization driving down escapes, rework and scrap by generating sound root causes, corrective actions and preventative actions
  • Evaluate, test, promote, and adopt emerging technologies that support compliance to customer standards and improve the efficiency and accuracy of NDT
  • Assure that product quality levels are maintained


Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science
  • Minimum of ten (10) years experience in Quality Assurance, Engineering, and/or related disciplines
  • Minimum of five (5) years management experience
  • Deep understanding of data management, business analytics, and performance metrics
  • Exceptional communications and collaboration skills
  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DOE "L" security clearance


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Submarine Safety, Naval Nuclear and/or Commercial Nuclear quality experience
  • Diversified background in machining, welding, fabrication, and NDE
  • Working knowledge of Defense and ASME Code Specifications for pressure vessels

Pay: $131,480 - $207,000

The base salary range for this position in Indiana (US-IN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $131,480 and $207,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
