Job Summary

The Director of QHSE - Fuel NOAM is responsible for leading strategies for North American operations. They will oversee and be responsible for the Company safety, security and environmental processes; and understand business from both an operational and financial perspective. Have the leadership acumen to help drive a company culture that values the safety and security of employees and customers as a business imperative.

The expected pay rate is $115,000 - $130,000/year. Full-time employees are offered a range of health and wellness benefits as well as 401(k) with company match paid vacation time, sick time, and company paid holidays.

Your activities
  • Strategically lead the Safety & Compliance programs for NOAM Fuel operations.
  • Promote a positive and just culture which recognizes, and rewards safe behaviors and safe work practices and drives accountability across the business.
  • Mentor, lead, and develop QHSE managers within organization to provide quality consultative services to operations.
  • Ensure that Swissport's Global QHSE Management System is fully implemented within North America as a minimum standard, as well as contributing as a Subject Matter Expert to the evolution and improvement of Swissport's global QHSE standards.
  • Maintain currency of the safety program by monitoring legislative actions, evaluating new requirements and developing new programs as necessary.
  • Oversee the Field Safety Program to support Operations safety culture and compliance with regulatory, company, and customer requirements.
  • Support stations and Corporate Emergency Response preparedness
  • Collaborate on response plans for all OSHA/TSA/FAA/EPA inspections/inquiries.
  • Monitor and report out on all safety / security related incidents providing valuable trend analysis to drive risk-based resource allocation.
  • Coordinate and develop corrective actions and internal consultative services with operation management.
  • Review safety investigations relevant to events occurring within the company. Ensure corrective actions are purposeful, complete, and implemented.
  • Investigate high profile accidents and coordinate with Insurance and Legal entities as applicable.
  • Ensure change management in processes and procedures to provide and maintain safe work practices and environment.


Physical Demands
  • Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl and crouch.
  • Frequent travel, up to 50%
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 50lbs.

Work Environment
  • Job duties will be carried out in multiple environments including office, airport, customer location, and transportation vehicles.
  • On call to handle all safety-related emergencies promptly.


Your profile
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in a senior leadership role within Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental management. Aviation industry/sector preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, Safety Management, Operational Management, or related field.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Expertise in sustainability practices and initiatives, with a strong understanding of environmental laws and compliance.
  • Proven track record of driving operational excellence, risk reduction, and regulatory compliance in large organizations.
  • Safety Management System experience preferred.
  • Highly organized; superior time management skills.
