Job Description:
Director, Quality Assurance
Position Summary: As a director of software quality assurance and release engineering, you will be responsible for managing Software Quality Assurance teams and processes to support manual and automated testing of the software solutions, as well as the consistent release management of solutions across the enterprise. This includes leading and growing the Software Quality Assurance teams in designing and implementing best practices and tooling for testing including unit, functional, integration, system, and regression using both manual and automated processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead, mentor and help expand software quality assurance team.
• Oversee end-to-end test capabilities across numerous development teams running in parallel to deliver world-class consumer experiences.
• Drive best practices in efficient use of simulation, automation, and manual test techniques to provide highest business value.
• Track key quality metrics and triage defects.
• Grow the capabilities of the group and champion both transformation and continual improvement in test tools & practices to gain efficiency and relentlessly improve customer experiences.
• Planning test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates; prioritizing work with general direction/minimal supervision
Job Requirements:
• BS / MS in Computer Science or equivalent technical discipline
• 10+ years of technical management experience, preferably directly involving complex software testing in a consumer-facing industry.
• 5+ years of experience in Agile, Scrum, Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment
• Proven track record of driving Quality for highly personalized customer facing Websites and Email Marketing
• Has successfully integrated and grown automation coverage into existing manual test processes.
• Direct experience leading Onshore and Offshore Quality Teams
• Demonstrated experience in measuring and reporting quality-related metrics to identify trends and proactively solve problems
• Good working knowledge of Cross Browser and Cross Device testing
• strong understanding of SDLC tools and processes, including source control, release control, change control, and automated build solutions
• Proven capability to serve as an exceptional people manager (preferably of software test managers and engineers).
• Outstanding leadership & communication skills, technical expertise, and systems thinking.
• Comfortable providing recommendations and identifying risks and mitigation plans
• Candidates should have strong: multitasking, troubleshooting, and communication skills
• Comfortable working in a collaborative team environment
