Virtual, work-from-home position. Work anywhere in the US, must live in the US

THE MISSION
We are looking for an exceptional Director - a builder-leader who owns outcomes, not just manages work. This is not a traditional product or project management role. It sits at the center of our transformation to an AI-native operating model, leading a small, cross-functional pod accountable for growing the individual learning business: evolving the product, expanding revenue, driving AI adoption, and continuously improving the experience for the learners we serve. You won't delegate execution from a distance - you'll be in the work alongside your pod, setting direction and driving delivery from start to finish. The best candidates combine the instincts of a product leader, the discipline of a business manager, and the mindset of a designer: they define problems before jumping to solutions, they build structure in ambiguity, and they hold themselves to the same standard of accountability they set for their pods. If you want to lead a high-trust pod, shape how the business grows, and own real outcomes, we want to meet you.

WHAT YOU'LL DO (The Impact)
  • Own the Outcome: Hold end-to-end accountability for your pod's results - product milestones, revenue targets, and customer impact. You measure success in delivered outcomes, not completed activities.
  • Translate and Execute: Translate the company's vision into your pod's product roadmap and delivery plan. You resolve competing demands and give your pod the clarity they need to move fast without second-guessing direction.
  • Own Positioning and Messaging: Develop and maintain segment-specific positioning, ICP definitions, buyer personas, and messaging frameworks.
  • Design the Work: Before your pod builds anything, you've defined the problem, pressure-tested the solution space, and structured the work for speed and quality. Design thinking isn't a workshop exercise - it's how you start every meaningful initiative.
  • Lead Voice of Customer and Market Intelligence Run VOC and VOM programs that translate real buyer signals into sharper positioning and stronger product direction. Own competitive intelligence consolidation and distribution. Be the person in the room who knows the business better than anyone else.
  • Lead from the Front: Coach and direct pod members day to day with the authority of a player-coach: you're in the work alongside your pod, not above it. You build a culture of accountability, craft, and continuous improvement that doesn't require you to be in every room.
  • Drive Revenue: Own the commercial outcomes for your pod's domain. You connect product and content decisions directly to revenue and growth metrics, and you track the numbers that prove it's working - not the proxy metrics that feel comfortable.
  • Navigate the System: Build strong working relationships with partner groups to align on standards, unblock dependencies, and move fast without creating downstream problems. You understand that operating within constraints is a skill, not a limitation.
  • Build AI-Native: Champion the active use of AI and automation tools inside your pod. You continuously identify where AI can accelerate delivery and reduce manual overhead, and you build that fluency and curiosity into your pod's culture - not just your own workflow.
  • Communicate the Story: Represent your pod's work, decisions, and outcomes clearly to senior leadership and cross-functional partners. You translate complexity into clear narratives, keep stakeholders aligned without losing momentum, and make the invisible work visible.

WHO YOU ARE

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field - product, design, business, technology, communications, or related - or equivalent demonstrated experience through a track record of leading teams and owning measurable outcomes.
  • 5-8 years of meaningful hands-on experience in product management, cross-functional program leadership, or a growth-oriented leadership role - with at least 2 years of direct accountability for revenue, product outcomes, or business results.

Your Profile
  • Owner & Accountable: You define your success in terms of outcomes, not outputs. You don't hide behind process when results are off - you diagnose, adapt, and drive. Accountability isn't something done to you; it's something you model.
  • Builder & Doer: You ship. You're most energized when you're in the work - drafting the brief, pressure-testing the prototype, reviewing the launch plan. You lead by doing, and your team can see and feel the difference.
  • Design Thinker: You slow down to define the problem before you accelerate into solutions. You ask better questions than most, you prototype before you scale, and you treat ambiguity as an invitation to create structure - not a reason to wait.
  • Commercial Driver: You connect every meaningful decision to revenue or growth. You know your numbers, you understand the unit economics of your team's domain, and you speak the language of the business as fluently as the language of your craft.
  • Low-Ego Leader: You earn authority through delivery and trust, not title. You're genuinely comfortable sharing people management, and you measure your own success through your team's performance.
  • Systems Thinker: You hold the big picture and the implementation detail at the same time. You understand how your team's work fits into the broader organization, anticipate second-order effects of your decisions, and build for sustainability, not just speed.
  • AI-Fluent: You've genuinely explored what AI can do - not just read about it. You use AI tools in your own work, you're excited about what's still emerging, and you believe building AI fluency into teams is a leadership responsibility, not an IT question.
  • Clear Communicator: You make priorities explicit and resolve ambiguity quickly. You're as comfortable presenting to owners as you are running a team retrospective. You write and speak in ways that move people to action, not confusion.
  • Culture Fit: You thrive in small, high-trust teams where expectations are high and bureaucracy is low. You take the mission seriously and yourself lightly. Curiosity, candor, and a genuine commitment to the professionals Continued serves are non-negotiable for you.

Preferred but Not Required
  • Domain Expert: You've worked in healthcare, continuing education, or a regulated content environment - and you understand what it means to serve professionals who depend on the quality of what you build to do their jobs well.
  • Pod-Experienced: You've operated in an agile, squad-based, or pod-structured organization before. You know the difference between the model as described and the model as practiced - and you've navigated both.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to work from home during core US business hours.
  • Must be located in the United States and be legally eligible to work for us without sponsorship.
  • Must have the ability to fulfill the job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Travel is required for an all-company meeting, and may be required once or twice per year for team or project meetings.

We prefer an excited candidate with a great attitude and less experience to an unmotivated or unengaged candidate with tons of experience.

WHY JOIN US?
  • Full-time W2 position, work core business hours in your time zone.
  • Work from home with a company-provided MacBook and internet stipend.
  • 21 days of flexible PTO + your birthday + holidays (with flexible substitution).
  • ½ day Summer Fridays Memorial Day to Labor Day.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision group health insurance, flexible spending accounts, and more.
  • 401k match, professional development budget, robust wellness programs, pet insurance and many more perks and benefits.

TO APPLY
To apply, please submit a cover letter with your application. In your cover letter, we'd love to hear about: 1) why you would make a great addition to our team, and 2) about a book you've read or video you've watched from which you learned something new or interesting.
