Full Job Description
The Director, Product Management for Value Based Care (VBC), is responsible for leading the strategy, roadmap, and execution of Ontada's Value Based Care product portfolio. This leader will drive alignment between evolving oncology regulatory requirements, customer needs, business objectives, and measurable patient outcomes. This role owns a major product area and leads a team of product professionals responsible for delivering solutions that support Community Oncology practices, regulatory reporting, clinical quality programs, and value-based reimbursement initiatives. The Director partners closely with stakeholders across Community Oncology Networks, Regulatory & Compliance, Engineering and Operations to define investment priorities, optimize resource allocation, and deliver business value. As a people leader, this role is responsible for hiring, coaching, mentoring, and developing a high-performing product organization while establishing product management best practices, governance, and operational excellence. Primary Outcomes • Define and execute a multi-year product strategy and roadmap for Value Based Care solutions that aligns customer outcomes, regulatory obligations, and financial objectives. • Build and lead a high-performing product team through effective hiring, coaching, performance management, and talent development. • Establish and continuously refine prioritization, governance, and operating mechanisms to ensure resources are focused on the highest-value initiatives. • Deliver measurable improvements in provider experience, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and business performance. • Drive alignment across executive stakeholders on strategic investments, roadmap priorities, and product outcomes. Key Responsibilities Product Strategy & Portfolio Leadership • Develop and communicate a compelling product vision and strategy for Ontada's Value Based Care portfolio. • Maintain deep expertise in oncology regulatory programs, reporting requirements, and value-based reimbursement models to inform product direction. • Lead the development of multi-year product roadmaps that balance customer needs, regulatory obligations, market opportunities, and business goals. • Evaluate market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer feedback to identify strategic opportunities for innovation and growth. Product Governance & Prioritization • Lead portfolio-level prioritization and roadmap decisions within approved investment parameters. • Support business case development and funding discussions for strategic initiatives. • Establish product governance, planning cadences, and operating mechanisms that create transparency and accountability across stakeholders. • Ensure alignment between roadmap decisions, organizational objectives, and financial targets. Product Delivery & Value Realization • Partner with Engineering, Design, Analytics, and Operations teams to translate customer and regulatory requirements into actionable product investments. • Oversee roadmap execution, release planning, and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful product delivery. • Define and monitor OKRs, success metrics, and key performance indicators to measure product performance and business impact. • Drive continuous improvement through data-informed decision making and customer feedback loops. Stakeholder & Business Leadership • Serve as the executive product leader for Value Based Care initiatives across internal and external stakeholder groups. • Partner with Regulatory, Compliance, Clinical, and Commercial leaders to ensure products support evolving industry requirements and strategic objectives. • Collaborate with senior leadership on commercialization opportunities, partnership strategies, and business growth initiatives. • Communicate product strategy, roadmap progress, risks, and outcomes to executive leadership and key stakeholders. People Leadership • Lead, mentor, and develop Product Owners. • Foster a culture of customer-centricity, accountability, continuous improvement, and product excellence. • Maintain standards for discovery, prioritization, roadmap planning, requirements definition, and outcome measurement. Minimum Requirement • Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 9+ years of professional experience and 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience. Critical Skills • Typically requires 4+ years of healthcare experience with Value Based Care initiatives and product management related experience. • Working with a team through vision, implementation and support of clinical applications with emphasis on EHRs • Ability to lead teams through effective product development operations and collaborate with cross-functional team members • Experience owning and managing a QCDR type program Additional Skills • Excellent understanding of product management lifecycle and processes, including discovery and implementation. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with technical and leadership teams. • Strong work ethic and willingness to go above and beyond to coordinate with stakeholders. • Strategic and creative thinker with the ability to craft go-to-market strategies. • Customer-centric mindset with the ability to translate needs to a product roadmap and vision. • Knowledge of electronic health records (EHRs), patient portals, and interoperability of data. • Knowledge of APIs, cloud and how that integrates with the EHR and Product Management landscape. • Knowledge of user experience and how to integrate user-driven designs into a product vision. The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations.
