Director, Product Management- Morrisville, NC (office based)
Job ResponsibilitiesThe Director of Product Management oversees a broader range of products or multiple product lines, often taking responsibility for the overall product strategy for a large segment of the company or even the entire product portfolio. This role involves making high-level strategic decisions that impact the entire product management department and the company's direction.
This is an office-based role that work in our Morrisville office space five days a week.
Responsibilities
- Own the department, manage global teams, and oversee all associated projects.
- Set goals in line with the business strategy and customer expectations; assist with resourcing to coordinate work activities and task completion.
- Lead the product team in the creation of the overall product vision and roadmap for our data-driven client products and resources.
- Clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical clients and stakeholders.
- Lead team to translate and prioritize business needs into technical and analytical requirements that feed into product development and overall design.
- Oversee the prioritization of product features, modifications, and attributes, and the communication of these priorities to the development team.
- Manage the budget for the product management function, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to maximize ROI.
- Oversee collaboration with engineers to draft requirements, statements of work, budget estimates, scope definitions, timelines, and supplier line-ups.
- Conduct market research, user interviews, and competitive analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities. Use this information to inform product development decisions.
- Set up tools and processes to facilitate communication and collaboration between team members.
- Work with internal and external clients on identifying unresolved business needs to guide the team's product strategy.
- Build and develop relationships with internal and external partners.
- Mentor and coach junior members across the business.
- Bring global teams together for one goal
Qualifications:
- Degree (BS/BA) in in Information Systems or Management, Statistics, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science or Engineering, or related field required.
- Experience leading a high performing team and working across multiple stakeholders to deliver results while educating and growing team members. Global experience is preferred.
- Experience with roadmap, issue, and backlog management systems.
- Experience with design tools like Figma.
- Clear, precise communication of technical concepts to lay audiences, while also possessing the ability to translate business rules and directives into technical specifications.
- Strong understanding of IT systems, software development processes, and enterprise technology platforms.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, with excellent communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Deep understanding of customer needs and the ability to translate them into actionable product requirements.
- Deep understanding of the Contract Research Organization industry
- Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies and the ability to implement and adapt these practices across teams.

Salary Range:
$134,400.00 - $255,400.00
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
