Full Job Description
UnitedHealth Group's Procurement team is transforming how employees engage Procurement across request intake, workflow orchestration, and request lifecycle management. Mercury is the enterprise procurement platform that supports both requesters and Procurement team members through a custom experience layer built on top of ServiceNow.

We are seeking a Director of Product Management to set the strategic vision and product strategy through execution for Mercury's request intake, lifecycle, and workflow capabilities. This role operates at the intersection of Procurement strategy, AI-enabled design, and enterprise platform delivery. The ideal candidate is a strong product leader who can define strategy, own and manage the backlog, partner closely with engineering and senior leaders, and translate complex business and workflow needs into scalable product capabilities that improve speed, quality, adoption, and platform maturity.

As a leader, you will define the multi-year product strategy, influence priorities, and partner with executive stakeholders across Procurement, Technology, and Enterprise business segments. You will translate complex business and workflow needs into scalable platform capabilities that drive measurable improvements in speed, quality, adoption, and overall procurement effectiveness

Success in this role is defined by enterprise-wide adoption of a simplified, intelligent request experience that materially improves speed, quality, and transparency across Procurement. You will be accountable for delivering a best-in-class intake and workflow platform that reduces friction, enables automation at scale, and drives meaningful business outcomes.

You will elevate Mercury from a workflow tool to a strategic platform that enables Procurement transformation, strengthens compliance, and enhances the user experience across the enterprise

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Define and own the end-to-end product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for Mercury, aligned to enterprise Procurement transformation priorities
  • Serve as a strategic partner to executive leadership, shaping priorities, influencing investment decisions, and aligning cross-functional stakeholders
  • Serve as the primary product partner to the development team, driving backlog refinement, prioritization, sprint planning input, acceptance criteria, and release readiness
  • Drive enterprise-wide adoption by delivering intuitive, scalable solutions that improve request quality, accelerate routing, and reduce manual effort
  • Define and scale AI, Generative AI, and agentic capabilities to automate workflows, improve decision-making, and enhance user experience
  • Oversee prioritization across multiple process areas, balancing near-term delivery with long-term platform scalability, simplification, and maintainability
  • Translate business goals, workflow pain points, and technical constraints into scalable product solutions, in close partnership with Procurement leaders, operations, engineering, architecture, and design
  • Establish and track product KPIs, using data, user insights, and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement and measurable business impact
  • Lead cross-functional alignment across Procurement, Operations, Technology, and business stakeholders in a complex, matrixed environment
  • Develop and communicate compelling business cases, product strategies, and progress updates to senior and executive leadership

You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, or related leadership roles delivering complex enterprise platforms or workflow-based solutions
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing outcomes across business and technology teams in a matrixed environment
  • Experience using customer insights, workflow metrics, and product performance data to inform strategy, prioritization and improve outcomes
  • Proven track record of defining and executing multi-year product strategies with measurable business impact
  • Proven ability to translate complex business processes and technical considerations into clear product direction, requirements, and prioritized execution
  • Solid written and verbal communication, including executive storytelling, business case development, and presenting strategy, tradeoffs, and recommendations

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting procurement, sourcing, intake, workflow, or shared services platforms
  • Experience with automation, orchestration, case management, or request lifecycle products
  • Experience working in a large, highly regulated enterprise environment
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or products built on top of ServiceNow

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives.
