Full Job Description
Role Overview

As Director of Product Management - Health Savings Accounts, you will own the end-to-end product strategy, growth agenda, roadmap, consumer experience, platform capabilities, and performance of the HSA portfolio for an industry leading HSA administrator. This is a high-impact leadership role with the scale, assets, distribution, and health-plan connectivity to reshape how millions of people prepare for and manage healthcare expenses.

You will lead with the mindset of a general manager and entrepreneur: setting a bold direction, identifying and validating growth opportunities, making disciplined investment choices, and mobilizing a highly matrixed organization to deliver measurable outcomes. The role requires both strategic range and operating depth across HSA savings, spending, investing, payments, custody and banking, employer distribution, health-plan integration, servicing, and digital experiences.

The Director will partner closely with the Employer General Manager, Senior Director, Banking and Treasury, Technology, Operations, Enterprise Digital, investment partners, Sales and Account Management, Finance, Compliance, Legal, AI/ML, Data, and health-plan partners. Product leadership is the primary requirement. Deep HSA and financial-services expertise is critical, along with the technical and commercial fluency to define the capabilities, integrations, economics, and product requirements needed to win.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Enterprise Product Leadership & Ownership: Own the HSA vision, strategy, value proposition, roadmap, lifecycle, and performance
  • Growth Strategy & Commercial Outcomes: Create and execute a growth agenda spanning new account acquisition, conversion, activation, contributions, transfer-in and consolidation, retention, and strategic partnerships
  • Consumer Financial Journey: Design a lifecycle experience that helps consumers understand the HSA, fund it confidently, use it intelligently for current healthcare needs, build savings for future expenses, and invest for long-term healthcare and retirement goals
  • Health-Plan & Ecosystem Integration: Use connectivity with health plans, employers, payroll providers, benefit administrators, brokers, financial institutions, and partners to create more integrated experiences and connect the HSA to the broader healthcare journey
  • Product & Platform Modernization: Define the product capabilities, platform requirements, integrations, data services, and migration priorities needed for scale and speed
  • Digital Experience & Personalization: Partner with Enterprise Digital, UX, Data, and AI/ML teams to create simple, fintech-grade web and mobile experiences. Advance personalized education, next-best actions, contribution guidance, notifications, transfer prompts, investment pathways, and self-service capabilities that meet consumers where they are
  • Market Leadership & Competitive Differentiation: Benchmark competitors and turn insights into clear strategic choices
  • Operations, Service & Control Environment: Serve as the primary Product partner to Operations, Service, Banking Operations, Fraud, Risk, and Compliance. Use call drivers, customer feedback, exception volumes, fraud signals, and cost-to-serve data to improve the product and strengthen controls
  • Roadmap Delivery & Outcome Accountability: Build and govern an outcome-based, multi-horizon roadmap. Set clear requirements, challenge scope, resolve ambiguity, sequence dependencies, and partner with Technology to deliver commitments with realistic feasibility, quality, and readiness
  • Financial & Investment Stewardship: Understand and actively manage the economic drivers of the HSA portfolio. Develop initiative-level business cases and make disciplined tradeoffs with Finance and business leadership
  • Cross-Functional & External Leadership: Align senior leaders and teams across Product, Technology, Digital, Operations, Banking, Investments, Sales, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and health-plan partners. Build productive partnerships and make timely decisions across a complex matrix
  • Team Leadership & Product Discipline: Lead and develop Product Managers, Product Owners, and analysts. Establish clear accountabilities, strengthen discovery and product-management practices, elevate commercial and technical fluency, coach talent, and create a culture of ownership, curiosity, pace, and measurable impact

Measures of Success:

  • Growth in funded accounts, new sales, conversion, retention, contribution flows, transfer-in assets, deposits, and invested assets
  • Improved consumer activation, digital engagement, self-service, investment adoption, payment success, satisfaction, and trust
  • Consistent roadmap delivery, solider product operating discipline, clearer portfolio choices, and measurable return on investment

You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in product management, product leadership, general management, strategy, or related product and business roles within large-scale, complex organizations
  • 5+ years of experience leading product teams, product contributors, or complex cross-functional organizations with accountability for business and customer outcomes in health benefit accounts (HSA, FSA, HRA, etc.)
  • Solid understanding of how digital experience, platforms, APIs, data, technology, operations, controls, distribution, and business economics combine to create an integrated product
Comfortable using AI tools and technologies to enhance productivity and decision-making.
  • Proven success owning end-to-end product strategy, roadmap, commercialization, product economics, and measurable growth for a complex product, platform, or portfolio
  • Proven growth-oriented, entrepreneurial mindset with experience identifying opportunities, testing value propositions, building business cases, launching capabilities, and scaling what works
  • Proven solid product judgment and customer empathy, with the ability to translate consumer, employer, distribution, and business problems into clear product choices, capabilities, and requirements
  • Proven advanced executive communication, storytelling, negotiation, and influence skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and align senior stakeholders around decisions
  • Proven solid financial acumen, including experience evaluating revenue drivers, unit economics, initiative costs and benefits, ROI, and portfolio investment tradeoffs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in healthcare, health benefit accounts, financial services, banking, fintech, payments, wealth management, employee benefits, or another regulated product environment
  • Experience leading deposit, transaction, payments, brokerage, investment, or consumer financial-wellness products at meaningful scale
  • Experience with employer-sponsored benefits distribution, brokers and consultants, payroll and benefits-administration integrations, implementation, client management, and direct-to-consumer channels
  • Experience integrating financial accounts with medical-plan data, claims, accumulators, provider networks, incentives, navigation, or other healthcare experiences
  • Experience partnering with Digital and UX teams to deliver differentiated consumer journeys and with Technology teams to modernize platforms, APIs, identity, data, and integrations
  • Experience applying AI/ML, personalization, next-best-action, automation, or data-driven guidance in a highly regulated consumer product
  • Experience building partnerships, evaluating build-buy-partner choices, negotiating commercial arrangements, and incubating new products from discovery through launch and scale
  • Deep knowledge of HSA administration, including account opening and custody, eligibility, contributions, distributions, tax reporting, beneficiaries, transfers and rollovers, cash balances, investments, fees, fraud, compliance, and servicing
  • Familiarity with applicable HSA regulatory, tax, banking, fiduciary, cybersecurity, privacy, accessibility, and consumer-protection considerations
