THE OPPORTUNITY
As the Director, Product Management, you will define and execute the product vision, strategy, and innovation roadmap for Cognition+'s Enterprise Insurance Management Platform while leading people and practices that bring that roadmap to life. As a member of the leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our products and services, ensuring they continue to meet the evolving needs of the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance industry.
You will lead the Product function, overseeing Product Owners, Business Analysts, User Acceptance Testers, and product governance activities while fostering a culture of innovation, client focus, and continuous improvement. Working closely with clients, industry stakeholders, and cross-functional teams, you will identify market opportunities, define strategic priorities, and guide the delivery of solutions that create measurable business value for our clients.
The successful candidate combines deep P&C insurance industry knowledge with proven product and people leadership experience and a passion for technology-driven transformation. They possess the strategic mindset to establish a long-term vision while maintaining the operational discipline necessary to deliver meaningful outcomes for clients, employees, and shareholders.
Total expected annual compensation of $120,000 - $170,000, inclusive of base salary and a performance-based bonus tied to individual, team, and corporate goals. This range does not include other components of our total compensation package, such as retirement contributions, benefits, paid time off, and other non-wage elements. The salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, work location, internal pay equity, and other relevant considerations.
This position can be performed from our office in London, Ontario or remotely within Canada. Remote-based employees may occasionally be asked to travel to our office, industry conferences, client sites, and partner events.

Responsibilities
- Define and champion the company's product vision, strategy, and long-term roadmap
- Lead the Product organization, including Product Owners, Business Analysts, User Acceptance Testers, and product governance processes
- Partner with executive leadership to align product investment decisions with corporate growth objectives
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of existing and emerging insurance markets, including in Canada and the United States, translating market, regulatory, and client insights into product strategy, innovation priorities, and growth opportunities
- Serve as the voice of the client within the organization, ensuring product decisions are informed by client feedback and market intelligence
- Collaborate with Development, Professional Services, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Support to deliver exceptional product outcomes
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance executives, brokers, industry associations, and strategic partners
- Define and monitor product KPIs, adoption metrics, customer satisfaction measures, and business outcomes
- Develop and execute innovation strategies that leverage emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, automation, analytics, and digital self-service capabilities
- Lead product planning and prioritization across multiple initiatives and product streams
- Support strategic sales activities, product demonstrations, industry presentations, and client executive meetings
- Evaluate industry trends, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for differentiation and growth
- Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning by setting clear expectations and supporting team performance
- Mentor, coach, and develop Product team members, including future product leaders within the organization
- Ability to travel to client sites, industry conferences, and partner events, as required

Qualifications & Skills
- Post-secondary education in Business, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Insurance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Minimum 10 years of experience within the Property & Casualty insurance industry, including exposure to insurance technology, underwriting, policy administration, billing, claims, broker workflows, and regulatory compliance
- Minimum 7 years of progressive leadership experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, Business Analysis, or a related field, including experience leading people, setting direction, coaching employees, and supporting high-performance teams
- Strong working knowledge of artificial intelligence, machine learning, workflow automation, and analytics
- Demonstrated experience developing and executing successful product strategies and roadmaps
- Proven experience leading teams, developing employees, and influencing cross-functional teams and executive-level stakeholders
- Strong business acumen with the ability to evaluate product investments, market opportunities, and strategic initiatives
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated ability to balance strategic vision with execution excellence

Nice to Have
- CIP or FCIP designation
- MBA or Master's degree in Business, Technology, or a related field
- Experience leading product organizations within an insurance technology company
- Product management certifications such as Pragmatic Institute, AIPMM, CSPO, or PSPO
- Public speaking, conference presentation, or industry thought-leadership experience
