Director, Procurement North America

The Procurement Director, North America is at the forefront of driving GSK’s purpose to unite science, technology, and talent to get ahead of disease together, hand in hand with leaders across the Commercial business and through strategic relationships with our suppliers.   • Leverage extensive procurement expertise and excellence, utilizing the expansive procurement network to access best practices and opportunities

  • Boldly ignite your entrepreneurial spirt to drive towards solutions that are most ambitious for patients

  • Deliver flawlessly to produce significant top and bottom-line improvement that allows the business to realize excellent growth

  • Partner with strategic suppliers to deliver our business objectives and scout for new Suppliers when innovation and creative solutions are needed

  • Proactively monitor for and mitigate against internal and external risks

We will look to you to:

  • Partner with one or more of the US Business Units (BU’s) or commercial functions (e.g. Vaccines, Oncology, Specialty, Anti-Infectious & Respiratory, Market Access, Digital, Data & Technology, and Strategy, Insights, Transformation & Operations) Build the procurement strategy for the BU(s)

  • Lead sourcing and negotiation initiatives that bring value to the organization and align with our strategy

  • Partner with our matrix global category Procurement colleagues to ensure optimization of our global buying power with local business needs

  • Lead large-scale, cross-BU projects

  • Support the business in the planning and preparation for the launch of new assets, ensuring that procurement strategies align with the dynamic needs of commercialization and market entry.

  • Support the Digital Transformation journey by promoting AI-driven systems, tools, and processes to boost procurement efficiency, streamline workflows, and drive innovation with actionable insights.

Why You?

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of procurement experience

  • 5+ years of leadership experience

  • Indirect procurement experience

  • Experience across marketing, sales & tech procurement categories, for example: content, media, sales enablement, data & analytics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years Pharma industry experience

  • Experience managing the delivery of large sourcing projects and end-to-end service implementation in collaboration with cross functional teams

  • Experience negotiating complex supplier agreements

  • Demonstrated success delivering a multi-year strategy ensuring competitive commercial advantage

  • Demonstrated ability to forge close business relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all management levels

  • Agile and distributed decision-making – using data driven decision making and applying judgement to balance pace, rigor and risk.

  • Managing individual and team performance.

  • Developing people and building a talent pipeline.

  • Budgeting and forecasting, commercial and financial acumen.
