Lead Novolex's procurement analytics transformation through data, insights, and operational excellence.

Job Description Position Summary:

The Director, Procurement Data & Analytics will lead Novolex’s procurement data and analytics function, overseeing a team of 7 and serving as a strategic leader in advancing data-informed decision-making across the procurement organization. This leader will be responsible for defining and scaling analytics capabilities that improve visibility to spend, savings, supplier performance, compliance, and sourcing effectiveness. The role will partner closely with category leaders, finance, operations, IT, and executive stakeholders to translate complex data into actionable insights, strengthen reporting discipline, and support enterprise procurement transformation. This individual will also champion data governance, reporting standardization, tool optimization, AI-enabled analytical capabilities, and continuous improvement across procurement systems, dashboards, and analytical processes.

Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities
  • Procurement Analytics Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of 7 responsible for procurement reporting, analytics, and insight generation across spend, savings, supplier performance, compliance, and sourcing activities.
  • Data Strategy & Governance: Establish and maintain strong data governance practices for procurement data, including data quality, master data alignment, KPI definitions, reporting standards, and metric consistency across categories and business units.
  • Spend Analytics: Oversee enterprise procurement spend analytics to identify trends, opportunities, risks, leakage, inflation impacts, and value creation opportunities that support sourcing and business decisions.
  • Savings & Performance Reporting: Drive standardized savings tracking, procurement performance scorecards, and executive reporting that provide accurate visibility to pipeline, realized savings, productivity, and value delivery.
  • Dashboard, Reporting & AI Enablement: Design, enhance, and manage dashboards, scorecards, reporting tools, and AI-enabled analytical solutions that improve access to timely, actionable procurement insights for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Supplier & Category Insights: Deliver analytical support for supplier segmentation, supplier performance management, category strategy development, should-cost analysis, benchmarking, and opportunity assessment.
  • Cross-Functional Business Partnership: Collaborate with procurement leadership, finance, operations, and other business stakeholders to align analytical priorities with business goals and support strategic decision-making.
  • Forecasting & Scenario Analysis: Support budgeting, forecasting, risk assessment, and scenario modeling related to commodity exposure, supplier changes, sourcing events, and procurement initiatives.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline reporting, automate recurring analyses, reduce manual processes, and improve the speed and quality of decision support.
  • Executive Communication: Prepare and deliver polished, executive-ready analyses, presentations, and performance updates using Microsoft PowerPoint and other communication tools to clearly communicate insights, risks, and recommendations.
Candidate Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Finance, Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain analytics, strategic sourcing, finance analytics, or a related function, including significant people leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading analytics teams and developing talent in a fast-paced, matrixed business environment, with experience setting strategic direction and driving accountability through leaders and individual contributors.
  • Strong expertise in procurement analytics, spend analysis, savings tracking, KPI development, supplier performance measurement, and executive reporting.
  • Experience with procurement and ERP systems, business intelligence tools, dashboard development, data visualization platforms, and AI-enabled analytics tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate large, complex data sets into clear business insights and recommendations.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignment across procurement, finance, operations, and technology teams.
  • Advanced communication and presentation skills, including strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and the ability to present findings effectively to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong project management, prioritization, and process improvement capabilities.
  • Experience establishing reporting disciplines, data controls, and standardized analytical methodologies.
Preferred Attributes
  • Experience in manufacturing, packaging, or a complex multi-site operating environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of source-to-pay processes, category management disciplines, and procurement operating models.
  • Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement experience a plus.
  • Strong business acumen with the curiosity and judgment to identify performance drivers and operational risks.
  • Demonstrated ability to build structure, consistency, and rigor within reporting and analytics processes.
  • Comfort operating with urgency while maintaining high standards for data accuracy and insight quality.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

 

A reasonable estimate of the current range is $150,000 - $210,000 + bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. At Novolex, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
