Job Summary The Director of Ambulatory Services advances the mission and vision of the District through effective operational and strategic leadership of Summit Pacific ambulatory services & clinics. Facilitates an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach in the delivery of care and programs in partnership with the Director of Nursing, & Director of Ancillary Services. Works to achieve optimal performance with ambulatory providers and management staff to ensure excellence in Summit Experience, patient care, quality, and operational performance objectives. Proactively and continuously assesses needs and opportunities and implements programs, processes, and best practices to optimize patient care and satisfaction while ensuring maximum operational efficiency. Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities 1. *Provides strategic vision and leadership for Summit Pacific Ambulatory service lines to ensure that each practice meets quality, experience, and financial objectives. Participates in strategic planning and ensures ambulatory operations are aligned with organizational goals and objectives. Assists with the development of growth strategies and identification of service/program needs; participates in planning and implementation of new or acquired services and programs. 2. *Partners with Director of Ancillary & Director of Nursing to plan, lead, and maintain effective organization wide clinical operations to meet annual operating goals that are in alignment with the District strategic plan and to resolve clinical service issues in a timely manner. 3. *Partners with physician leadership and ambulatory managers to plan and lead ambulatory operations. Engages staff, providers, and managers in developing and implementing action plans to meet annual operating goals and effectively resolve issues. 4. *Establishes standards for workflow and delivery of patient care to ensure compliance, efficiency and patient satisfaction. Leads process improvement initiatives. Analyzes data, identifies problems, develops and evaluates alternative courses of action and implements improvement plans through utilization of Quality Improvement (QI) and Process Improvement (Pl) principles. 5. *Manages and oversees the delivery of exceptional and compassionate care to all patients. Monitors patient satisfaction and initiates activities to improve performance as indicated. 6. *Maintains high visibility by making regular rounds to ambulatory services. Demonstrates an attitude of cooperation and professionalism and fosters harmonious relationships between staff and providers to ensure patient care and customer service standards are met. Addresses problems and issues raised by physicians, employees, and patients in a timely and effective manner. 7. *In partnership with Marketing staff, develops and implements marketing plans to promote the clinics and their professional staff. Maintains positive public relations and referral relationships. 8. *Advises and consults with physicians, nurses, and other district personnel. Serves as a liaison across disciplines. Engages with both internal and external partners to advance the Summit Pacific mission and vision. Participates in professional groups/associations. Participates as an active member of various committees; leads work groups, projects and committees as assigned. 9. *Effectively leads subordinate managers and staff to achieve performance objectives and to facilitate effective operations and an overall positive work environment that promotes SPMC values to ensure SPMC is the "best place I've ever worked." 10. Organizational Responsibilities In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed above, leaders are expected to support and uphold the Summit Pacific mission, vision and values; comply with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; and conduct themselves in an ethical, professional, respectful, and collaborative manner. Required Education and Experience • Bachelor's degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration, or equivalent. Master's degree preferred. • Two (2) years of management experience. • Five (5) years of progressive experience in medical office/clinic practice settings, both Primary Care & Specialty preferred. • RHC & Ambulatory Specialty experience strongly preferred. Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations 1. None Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities 1. Advanced knowledge of practice management/ambulatory service administration, including financial operations, staff and patient experience/satisfaction, healthcare information management and quality/risk management. 2. Demonstrated competence in leading and managing others. Ability to cultivate effective partnerships and work in collaboration with providers, other health care professionals, staff, patients, and community members. 3. Working knowledge of DNV Requirements for Ambulatory Settings. 4. Strong leadership, facilitation, delegation, and coaching skills. 6. Proficient in the use of current technology, including Microsoft Office products. Ability to identify and employ communication strategies appropriate to the audience. Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records in a timely manner. 8. Ability to work independently performing a wide variety of assignments that require the use of independent judgment, systems-thinking, problem-solving, organization, and prioritization skills. 9. Ability to Travel between service locations.
