The Director of Physician Recruitment provides leadership, direction and ongoing administration for all aspects of Physician Recruitment to ensure policies and procedures are implemented for efficient, effective management of all programs. The Director of Physician Recruitment is accountable to communicate strategic initiatives at all levels: Corporate, Group, Division and Hospital in order to meet the program goals and objectives.
This role is office based in our North Florida Division office. Candidates must be in Tallahassee, FL or surrounding areas or be willing to relocate to the area for consideration.
Job Summary and Qualifications
• Develops and implements programs, plans, policies, and procedures for recruitment, screening, selection, and placement of physicians and advices local team and reporting Division teams of these plans and best practices
• Plans and directs activities of staff in local Division and reporting Divisions by carrying out such functions as developing sources of qualified applicants, screening applicants, scheduling and conducting interviews, checking references and background, and evaluating applicant qualifications.
• Interfaces with Division Leadership, hospital CEO's and their designees to determine physician staffing needs.
• Develops and maintains contacts with training programs, placement firms, current medical staff, current medical groups, hospital and practice administrators, vendors and other sources of applicants.
• Serves as communication liaison with Division Physician Recruitment teams, PSG management and Practices.
• Conducts on-site visits to meet with hospital administration, appropriate practices and staff
• Keeps Group President and CFO, Division President and CFO informed on the progress of the physician recruitment function through monthly meetings and reports.
• Works with and through HCA facility CEOs to bring high quality physicians to HCA's markets. Assist Divisions in working with hospital CEOs and other Division resources to formulate the recruitment plan by specialty based upon the Division's strategic plan and community's need.
• Monitors all physician recruitment and employment agreements and any contract provisions, updates and revisions as requested.
• Coordinates the endeavors of the marketing communications department to consistently communicate with related communications departments including Web Administration and corporate communications. Develops supporting marketing brochures, collateral materials and sales tools.
• Determines Internet online recruiting strategies for attracting and recruiting candidates.
• Develops and manages on-campus and off-site recruitment programs including job fairs, trade shows, and media presence.
• Implements and manages physician candidate tracking systems to maintain accurate and comprehensive files for: candidate records; current operational policies and procedures; internal and external reports and correspondence; governmental and regulatory standards.
• Maintains data on recruitment activities, applicant flow, interviews, and recruitment results.
• Prepares and analyzes statistical reports and other data to monitor candidate flow, selection, and turnover.
• Consults with management to prepare staffing budgets, projections, and employment policies, procedures, and practices. Manages department budget to insure cost is covered through appropriate allocation method.
• Identifies and evaluates trends on healthcare recruitment, including location conditions, economic conditions and competitive institutions to develop innovative strategic plans to respond to these trends.
• Work with corporate legal department to assure adherence to guidelines, rules and regulations.
• Assist legal department in revising and updating recruitment agreements.
• Supervises the management of Division recruitment teams and provides assistance in determining appropriate staffing needs.
• Serves as a professional resource for Division, Hospital, Physician Services, Market and Specialty Recruiters.
• Leads Division's regional resident outreach effort
• Responsible for recruitment department's relationship with Division Leadership, providing necessary reports and information to Division President and Division CFO
• Responsible for Divisional recruitment results. Insures that Division targets are met and open positions are properly budgeted.
• Responsible for recruitment department's relationship with the PSG Group Vice Presidents of Operations
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree; MBA, MHA or other Master's degree is preferred
• Required to have 4-6 years of physician recruitment experience, preferably in a leadership function.
