Full Job Description
The Director, Physical Security & Access Management provides strategic leadership and oversight for Valleywise Health's enterprise physical security, access control, and badging programs. This role is responsible for establishing system wide security strategy, governance, and standards to protect patients, workforce members, visitors, and assets while supporting Valleywise Health's mission as a public healthcare system. The Director ensures physical access is role based, risk informed, and consistently applied across all facilities, balancing open access to care with safety, regulatory compliance, and operational continuity.

Annual Salary Range: $127,940.80 - $204,713.60

Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in security management, information systems, criminal justice, public administration, facilities management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience:
  • Eight (8) or more years of progressively responsible experience in physical security, with several years in a leadership or management role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise physical security, access control, or safety programs.
  • Experience in a healthcare, public sector, or highly regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with DNV standards, healthcare security guidelines, and risk management practices.
  • Experience overseeing multi-site security operations and access systems
  • Strong knowledge of access control systems, role-based access models, and security governance.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with executive leadership and cross functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.

Certification/Licensure:
  • Relevant professional certifications preferred (e.g., healthcare security or physical security leadership).
