The Role: Director of Philanthropy

Step into a pivotal leadership position where you'll spearhead major gift fundraising programs and initiatives that propel our Ministry forward. Based in a thriving environment, you will recruit and guide a talented team dedicated to enhancing individual, corporate, and foundation giving, focusing on current contributions, endowment expansion, and capital investment.

What You'll Do:
  • Strategic Fundraising Architect: Cultivate significant gifts of $25,000 or more, along with revenue-driving event initiatives. Collaborate closely with hospital leadership to craft compelling giving opportunities, working seamlessly with our Foundation's Fundraising Team to prioritize strategic objectives and nurture a robust pipeline of donor prospects.
  • Donor Engagement Maestro: Employ a systematic approach to identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors, ensuring that fundraising metrics are met annually, including securing pivotal gifts and net letters of intent supporting key priorities.
  • Visionary Leadership: Design a strategic fundraising plan that empowers your team to achieve major and capital philanthropic initiatives.
  • Personalized Gift Management: Develop and manage a portfolio of major gift prospects, personally soliciting gifts and pledges of $25,000 over five years.
  • Event Leadership: Oversee events that align with the Ministry's philanthropic ambitions and cultivate donor relationships.
  • Team Empowerment: Supervise and lead the philanthropy manager, coordinator, and administrative assistant in executing major, planned, and event fundraising activities.
  • Community Advocate: Actively engage with the community to elevate awareness of the Ministry's charitable mission and philanthropic goals.
  • Analytical Insight: Prepare financial and analytical reports on fundraising outcomes and trends, driving informed decision-making.
  • Professional Networking: Maintain strong connections with community organizations and institutions impacting healthcare development programs.


What You'll Bring:
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college. Master's Degree preferred.
  • Certification: Upon hire, Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred.
  • Experience: A proven track record of 8 years in non-profit with a focus on major giving and 5 years of leadership experience, ideally in larger institutions.
  • Expertise:3 years of senior-level fundraising experience within large, complex organizations, with success in closing six-figure gifts.
  • Strategic Planning: Demonstrated expertise in designing and executing a fundraising strategic plan that consistently meets goals.
  • Technical Proficiency: Experience with fundraising donor management software and adeptness in managing revenue and expense budgets to align with program objectives.
  • Leadership Collaboration: Skilled in designing fundraising strategic plans in partnership with organizational leadership.
  • Gift Acquisition: Verified success in personally securing major gifts and cultivating donor relationships.
  • Prospect Management: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in prospect management systems that foster the development of a major gift prospect pipeline.
  • Preferred Experience: Experience with healthcare philanthropy and Raiser's Edge Donor Management system preferred.
  • Skill Set: Advanced interpersonal, analytical, organizational, and prioritization skills, coupled with excellent persuasive communication abilities.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficient computer literacy in Windows applications.
