What is the opportunity?

As Director, Personal Banking Operations Transformation and Delivery, you will be focused on process transformation design, change management, and workforce enablement. You will operate as a strategic partner and anchor the bank's efficiency agenda within Personal Banking Operations while maintaining robust risk governance and organizational capability development. This role provides enterprise-wide capabilities and horizontal support across multiple business units. You will translate those capabilities for PBO-specific context and drive adoption and change management to ensure sustained value realization.

What will you do?

  • Lead the delivery and program management of active transformational programs transitioning through to their maturity phases, serving as the primary point of contact for these programs
  • Provide capacity to support new large-scale transformation programs that may be developed over time
  • Design and execute organizational change management, communications, and workforce enablement strategies to drive adoption and sustainment of transformation and operational improvement initiatives
  • Serve as the primary point of contact within PBO for transformation strategy execution and program delivery
  • Build and manage strategic transformation and optimization roadmaps specific to PBO, tracking initiative progress, and produce executive reporting on transformation outcomes and impact
  • Assume full ownership of ongoing transformational programs and any new programs that emerge
  • Establish governance and project controls, drive pilot launches as well as provide executive sponsorship and stakeholder alignment
  • Identify and prioritize transformation and optimization opportunities within PBO and conduct discovery to understand PBO challenges
  • Develop business cases, feasibility assessments and serve as the primary intermediary
  • Build and manage strategic transformation roadmaps, diagnose process roadblocks and co-design simplification solutions
  • Develop change management strategies tailored to initiative scope and organizational readiness
  • Partner with PBO Communications team on messaging and delivery, build sustainability governance and foster continuous improvement culture


What will you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • 5+ years of related experience with 2+ years of people management/leadership experience and a strong understanding of Banking Operations
  • Ability to identify and utilize internal and external networks to influence situations and establish effective relationships
  • Strong leadership, facilitation, conflict management, negotiation and influencing skills, including presentation capabilities and collaboration behaviors
  • Exposure to AI evaluation, automation use case identification, or intelligent operations initiatives
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Finance, or related discipline
  • Demonstrated knowledge of RBC's business, culture, and operating model (either through prior RBC employment or equivalent tenure in comparable banking operations)


Nice to have:

  • MBA or equivalent advanced business qualification
  • Experience with enterprise transformation methodologies
  • Background or training in data analytics, process mining, or business intelligence tools
  • AI literacy or emerging technology exposure
