SummaryEnsures safe and effective care delivery within perioperative services 24/7. Manages the operations, professional development and competence of leadership and staff in the perioperative division. Acts as the primary recruitment and retention officer and works in collaboration with clinical service colleagues to assure ongoing system effectiveness. Complies with and supports the organizational philosophies policies, procedures and protocols.
Job Duties- Ensures the delivery of quality patient care in assigned areas.
- Serves as a clinical expert for complex and/or highly specialized patient care situations to perioperative/procedural personnel.
- Collaborates with appropriate others in the short and long-range planning for the department, clinical services, and/or organization.
- Demonstrates full responsibility and accountability for all activities. Fosters accountability of staff for adherence to policy/procedures/professional practice.
- Coaches are mentors' staff in the attainment of goals and identifies.
- Establishes Perioperative team/personnel performance objectives and evaluation criteria.
- Provides leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of structured care methodologies, inclusive of case facilitation, clinical procedures, guidelines, protocols, and standing orders.
- Manges the financial aspects of the department(s), remaining within target and accounting for variances from budget.
- Serves as an articulate representative of the Hospital and Perioperative Services.
- Promotes the development of shared governance model.
- Adheres and educates staff on all regulatory requirements regarding privacy, patient safety, and goals (OSHA,HIPAA,TJC,ADA,ect.).
- Promotes and facilitates evidenced-based practice and research.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- 3 years of recent OR, Perianesthesia, or GI experience with demonstrated leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in directing and guiding personnel.
- BLS - Basic Life Support AHA - American Heart Association Upon Hire
- RN - Licensed Registered Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire
Preferred Qualifications- Master's Degree in Nursing.
Physical DemandsLift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
