Job Description

As part of Performance Psychology, the Director Performance Psychology and Behavioral Health provides and oversees both sport psychology and mental-health services for major-league and minor-league players of the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club. This role leads the psychological services group within the High-Performance umbrella, owns clinical supervision and crisis-response architecture, coordinates the Club's external clinical network and consulting bench and is the senior point of contact for confidential player behavioral-health matters.

 

Core duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide sports psychology and mental health services to players with the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club (MBBC) on a short /long term basis, depending on the level of care required.
  • Identify emotional, psychological, and behavioral disorders.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans and therapeutic processes.
  • Develop and implement a mental performance curriculum that is aimed at improving on-field performance and assists in individual player development at scale.
  • Provide goals and action plans for players to achieve personal, social and vocational development

The ideal candidate will have a Doctorate (PhD or PsyD) in clinical, counseling, or sport psychology. Active clinical psychologist licensure in Wisconsin and Arizona (or eligibility for reciprocity within 6 months). Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC) certification through AASP required, or active candidacy with documented completion timeline. Minimum 5 years post-doctoral applied experience, preferably including professional or elite-amateur sport. Demonstrated experience leading or supervising a multi-site psychological services group, owning crisis protocols, and managing external clinical networks.
